Volvo will launch a new sport utility vehicle - Volvo XC60 that’s expected to go on sale in Spring 2009.

Expect the XC60 to have about the same footprint as the S60 sedan, but to be much more utilitarian and versatile, and to have styling almost as dramatic as that of the concept car, unveiled At the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

       

Volvo XC60 premiers at the International Car Show at Geneva, on 4 March 2008. The first cars are scheduled to reach dealers across Europe in the Autumn of 2008. The car will be available in early 2009.  The XC60 will fit in Volvo’s current SUV line-up nicely, rounding out the current XC70 and XC90 line-up.

In typical Volvo style, One of the car’s unique features is City Safety Technology. This automatic braking system can apply the Volvo’s brakes to maintain a safe distance between it and the vehicle ahead on the road, to the point to bringing the Volvo to a full stop if needed.

The Price of this Car should be somewhere in the $35,000 range.
