Land Rover, a subsidiary of Tata Motors,  have launched the new Range Rover Model Year 2010 in the Indian market. Mr. Ratan Tata, Chairman of Tata Motors handed over the keys of the first Range Rover to Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor at the launch ceremony held in Mumbai.

Labelled as the most complete luxury 4×4, the Land Rover flagship has been comprehensively updated with powerful new engines and a host of revolutionary interior technologies. The new Range Rover comes with two engine options - the brand new 510 PS Supercharged LR-V8 Petrol and the 271 PS LR-TDV8 diesel. The LR-V8 engine delivers more power and refinement without compromising on corresponding increase in fuel consumption and emissions by making use of a throughly state-of-the-art lightweight direct fuel injection system with class leading efficiency. The engine according to LR provides more usable low end torque and superior dynamic response.

Land Rover’s trademark Terrain Response System and Stability Control Systems have also been further optimized for enhanced off-road performance. The systems work in conjugation with Adaptive Dynamics to provide good on-road performance too.

The interiors of the new Range Rover come with real wood veneers and finest quality leather chosen from high quality hides that retain the leather’s natural grain. Other interior highlights include ‘dual view’ infotainment touch screen technology which enables the drivers and passenger to view different images on the same screen and 12 inch TFT screen that replaces the physical instruments and displays essential driver information via cleverly designed virtual dials and graphical displays. Both these technology debuted on the recently launched Jaguar flagship XJ.

At the front the new headlamps retain the Range Rover’s signature concentric circle design with new 3-Stripped LED theme on the indicators, LED rear lamps and new larger front grille.

The new 2010 Range Rover is available at a starting price of Rs 98.5 Lakhs, Ex-Showroom, Mumbai.
