BAJAJ PLATINA 125CC LAUNCHED!

In a bid to arrest the declining market share, Bajaj Auto has launched the 125cc version of the Platina in the market today. The bike comes with the same mill as the XCD DTS-Si and is expected to deliver fuel efficiency figures of a 100cc while providing better performance expected of a 125cc.

The bike is competitively priced at Rs. 39,000 as Bajaj hopes to increase its market share and take fight to Hero Honda.

I wonder if Bajaj will put the Wind’s 125cc into the XCD’s frame and launch the ‘other’ 125cc bike. If I understand Bajaj well they are not going to throw away the Wind’s engine. They will put it somewhere. Will it also be made into a Dtsi is what remains to be seen.

Bajaj claim a mileage of 111kmpl, which is very unrealistic to be honest.

this is the problem with Indian Auto Companies. They dont want to let go off their engines or designs. They seem to be in love with them forever and will try using those in one way or other. The end result is too many products with further “three many” configurations and engines. Bajaj is fast becoming the Tata of two wheelers with this approach
