Bentley has introduced the fastest car in its entire lineup, the Continental GT Flying Spur ‘Speed’ in the Indian market. The uber Bentley comes with the uprated version of the twin turbo W12 engine with a mamoth 600 bhp on tap and made its debut at the British Motor Show in July this year.

The car does a 0-100 kph sprint in a pulverizing 4.5 seconds and goes on to hit a top speed of over 320 kmph. With these numbers to boot, the Continental Flying Spur Speed is the fastest four door saloon in the world, shadowing even the best from Maserati and the likes. These numbers become even more impressive when you take into account the fact that it weighs as much as some of the offroaders around.

Bentley Motors regional director (Middle East, Africa and India) Chris Buxton said: “India is an important market for us with huge potential in the long term. There has been a slowdown in the global automobile market and we are expecting to compensate for this with demand from emerging markets like India, China and the Middle East. China remains the largest market in Asia and we are hoping India will emerge the next biggest in the medium to long term. Its strong growing economy and buoyant auto market is important for Bentley’s overall future growth.”

The car has been priced at Rs. 2.5 Crores Ex-Showroom Delhi and the company is targetting about 10 units of the Flying Spur Speed in the Indian market. Bentley also sells four other models in the Indian market and has already sold 100 cars in the Indian market in the past 5 months.

“We are looking at enhancing our range in India. All our future models will be simultaneously launched in India along with the global market,” Mr Buxton said. Bentley sold over 10,014 cars globally in 2007 and has a order backlog of 30 cars in the Indian market.
