Car sales in June 09 have risen by 7.8 percent year on year in June 09 to 107,531 units.

The data comes from SIAM, the industry body of the automobile makers in India. The sales stood at 99,741 in June 08.

The sales of commercial vehicles like trucks and buses though are down by a massive 12.5 percent from a year earlier to 36,193 units.
