CC’S EXCLUSIVE: NEW LOOK MITSUBISHI LANCER CEDIA!
Â
Mitsubishi Cedia although a very competent car has never really sold in the Indian Market. Even the hefty price cuts havent been able to arrest sagging sales which even to this day remain weak. The company is now planning to launch the facelifted version of the Lancer Cedia which is nothing but the old Cedia with a new front grille, a Kenwood Dual DIN touch screen music system and new Climate Control System.
The facelifted Lancer Cedia will be launched in the Indian Market in October and will finally make way for the all new Lancer which will be launched in the Indian market early next year.
Thanks for the pictures Mayur!

Does this car even sell? I keep reading that both the earlier Lancer and the Cedia are being offered in the Indian market. I do not see either of them on the roads. What is the point of these facelifts, they will only add to the losses of the company. Scrap them, revamp the dealers and introduce the latest model and then maybe the sales will pick up. I cannot see how these ancient models will sell in a market where players like Honda keep updating models every 4 or 5 years without the consumer asking for it.
They don’t sell much and why will Cedia and Lancer sell when there are better cars with better after sales service.
it is not the dated models that are loosing the ground, but the ‘old karma’ of mitsubishi being part of the ‘horrible motors’ (HM). the battle was already lost before mitsubishi decided to stand alone in the already ripened car biz. having said that, mitsubishi’s facelifted cedia seems refreshing, but alas, there aren’t many takers. the company has to do lot more to gain the huge back-lash. despite of it’s successful stint with lancer, company has somehow failed to capture the imagination and is struggling hard to hard-sell a decent package. mitsubishi should be prepared to make losses and yet comeup with agressive launches and after sales network. Yamaha did that.
With Pajero, out-lander, Montero, Cedia Mitsubishi should happy with what they have in their stable.
Now people who want a good car, necesissarily not a flimpsy car that changes 3 years, would still go for Cedia, or cars alike for a simple reason, its for who wants good pleasure drive.
Having said, Mitusbishi sure have to improve its network, and marketinng (if they want to) increase the sales (and able to meet it)/
