Facelifted 2009 Hyundai Verna Coming Soon, Specification And Features!

Hyundai will launch the facelifted version of its midsizer Verna very soon in the Indian market. The new Verna will come with fewer variants and additional features to make it more value for money.

The exterior changes are merely cosmetic with a new front grille and chrome strip on the top to give it a premium, upmarket look. The side wasteline moulding will also come with chrome inserts and the full wheel covers have been redesigned. The rear gets new chrome garnish while all the variants will feature electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors as standard. Hyundai has also added new body colors to the color pallete of the new Verna.

Interiors get new upholstery and premium dual din stereo with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters and audio controls on the steering wheel as standard.

The mechanicals remain the same which means it still get the 1.6 Petrol VTVT engine and the stoking 1.5 Litre Common rail turbocharged diesel under the hood. The diesel variant for the first time in tis segment also get the 4-speed automatic option in the form of 1.5 CRDI SX AT.

1.6 VTVT replaces the earlier 1.6i and 1.6 Xi

1.6 VTVT SX replaces the earlier 1.6 XXi and 1.6 XXi ABS

1.5 CRDi replace the earlier 1.5 base CRDi

1.5 CRDi SX replaces the earlier 1.5 CRDi SX and 1.5 CRDi SX ABS

1.5 CRDi SX AT (All new automatic transmission variant)

All 5 variants get new grille, dual din audio system with steering wheel mounted controls, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors and new upholstery.

The new base variants now get redesigned full wheel covers.

Alloy wheels are now standard on the both the 1.6 VTVT SX and the 1.5 CRDi SX.

The SX variants also get leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, luggage net, fatter 185 /65 R14 tyres.

ABS standard on both the SX variants.

Hyundai rivals has already rolled out the newer versions of Verna competitor. Honda launches all new City, whereas Ford rolled out the facelifted Fiesta (http://blog.carazoo.com/2008/12/indianized-ford-fiesta.html). In order to fight and increase the demand this was a necessary step taken by the Hyundai.

Hyundai rolled out the all new Verna (http://www.carazoo.com/newcars/carreview/Hyundai/New%20Verna) with four new variants which is available both in petrol and diesel version. The top end variant of diesel version comes with an automatic transmission.
