Dacia has launched the facelifted Logan, the scoop pictures of which we posted earlier. We have high resolution images for you at the end of this post. This is an evolutionary upgrade to the Logan which internationally is already 4 years old now. The completely new model with exhaustive changes will come only in 2012, till then this newly refreshed mid-cycle facelift will keep the buyers interest alive. The facelifted Logan looks a lot better than the outgoing model with the helpings of chrome, a new look front and back.

The front end gets a new bumper with a prnounced line running along the corners which ends at the front wheel arch, a completely new, mature grille helped by a chrome lip at the top, new headlamps and new round fog lamps which look rather nice shrouded by black inserts in the bumper. The rear view mirrors have also been changed, they are now bigger and you may finally be able to see what coming behind you!

Its at the back where most of the work has been done. Its no longer straight, boxy and boring and has been adorned with some curves primarily at the top of the boot lid and tail lights which are now clear lens, which makes them a little glamorous and less utilitarian. The tail lights also follow the countours of the boot lid, which also has a rather nice chrome strip running from side to side at the lip of the boot lid, where it meet the bumper. The rear bumper has been subtle work too and now comes with reflector stripa on either side that help break the monotony at the back. The idea is to make Logan look young and exciting and it does. There is absolutely no change whatsoever in the engine specifications or the mechanicals which remains pleasantly simple, honesst and robust.

The interiors have also been updated with the dashboard from the hatchback sibling, the Sandero. What remains same are the prices which remain intact for most versions. If introduced in India, keeping the price levels same as they are right now, this car has the potential to change the mid-size sedan segment on its head. Upto to you Mahindra-Renault.
