Fiat has confirmed that they will be making a cabriolet version of it retro small car, the 500. Fiat brand styling director Roberto Giolito reveled that the model is indeed on its way, although no launch date has been announced as yet.

Giolito also revealed that the car will feature a fabric roof instead of a retractable hard-top mentioning that improvements in materials technology has removed many of the drawbacks associated with cloth roofs. Also interesting to note is that the more expensive Mini convertible also features fabric roof which the little Fiat will be targetting.
