FIAT AND CHRYSLER IN CO-OPERATION TALKS

Fiat is in talks with its U.S rival Chrysler in recent weeks for co-operation of various forms. Alfa Romeo brand chief Luca de Meo told German magazine WirtschaftsWoche in a story published on Saturday.

Fiat Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne said in an interview with the Financial Times at the end of March that his company was already talking to Detroit’s major carmakers about sharing production of Alfa Romeos in the United States.  This move would save money for Fiat as European exports suffer due to a strong euro and will also mark the return of the Alfa Romeo brand to the us market after it was withdrawn in 1995.

Alfa Romeo 159 has got great reviews from the journalists and the Alfa fans. The styling is stunning to say the least and it looks better than any four door mid-size luxury saloon in it catagory which includes the likes of Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, and Mercedes C class. The interiors are even classier with red leather that looks like it has come from a much higher automobile, the dials looks like they have come from a swiss watch. The base model retails in UK for close to 23k pounds. We hope and pray Fiat launches the same car in India, its a beauty and makes the beemers and the mercs look decidedly ugly.
