FIAT LINEA INDIA - SPY PHOTOS

One of our loyal readers has sent us few Spy Pictures of the new Fiat Linea caught in Kolhapur,  Maharashtra.

Here are a few of the observations made by him:-

  • The Dashboard is pretty good looking and the engine seemed to be very well refined.
  • It has steering mounted controls.
  • The Speedometer, Tachometer and other gauges hav a very classy creamy off white background.
  • The 15″ alloy wheels also looked quite good.
  • 3 people were seated in the back without any congestion so that too looks very comfortable.
  • The car has great fit and finish.
  • The Gear Knob looked very good.
  • The Cars were filling both Petrol and Diesel (6 cars each) and were headed most probably to Pune.

Thanks Jeet for sharing this with us. Here are a few more Shots…

Looks good but they are still testing it? Honda never really tested the City as much Fiat is doing, i think its not the first time the Linea has been spotted. Maybe by the time Fiat decide to launch it the fifth generation City would be here.

hope TATA will not comramise in quality as far as linea is concerned. I am a palio fan have a 1.2 palio as well as the latest multijet.I face hell lot of problems with multijet like poor build quality, vibrations when driving the car below 50kmph in top gear, and ……….. lots to complain about. Its simply not as good as the old palio.

TATA please dont make it TATA linea!!!!!!!! again

Friend Muthukaruppan, the TATAs are only distributing Fiat cars. The manufacturing is the responsibility of Fiat itself. So in case they get it wrong again, please don’t blame TATA for it. Any problems with Fiat cars are their own creation and so if you have a malfunctioning problem it has nothing to do with TATA. Remember TATA sells more cars in a month than Fiat does in two or three years. The fault is obviously not with TATA.

Hi Sadsack, i would like to say that volume has nothing to do with overall quality of a car, tata sells cars because its cheap to buy, but people forget it becomes very costly when it comes to major works, i ve being using various cars in the past ten years including a safari and an indica, i am also travelling to office in indica provided by my office and find similar quality plastics and beadings in my multijet also. May be iam mistaken that tata has something to do with production of fiat cars, but i would say the quality has gone really really down on each and every part of the car.The build quality is the worst thing, the panel gaps r like i can put my finger in on certain areas of the car and very inconsistent. MAY BE FIAT LEARNT IT FROM TATA

IMAGINE WHEN U PUT UR HARD EARNED MONEY AND BUY A CAR WHICH DOES NOT PERFORM WELL, ANYBODY WOULD BE FRUSTRATED.

SORRY. I AM REALLY AGAINST TATA I’VE SEEN A LOT !!!!!!!!!!

I am not for TATA either. The fact that I have changed cars and never even considered buying a TATA car probably says it all. The only thing that I have said is that if Fiat makes cars that are bad, lets not blame TATA for it. I leave the judgement regarding TATA cars to owners of vehicles who have cars with that name.

right!!!!!! any sane, technologically aware & sense of quality will never approve of TATA. but as our country’s basic instinct for ’sasta & tikau’, tata has done well. it is disappointing & ‘head-breaking’ feeling that how good cars have lost their market. may be somewhere the indian consumer psyche is misread by these manufacturers.

fiat is like “maruti suzuki” in europe. it is reasonable in quality & price both. since their’s is a mature market, you see quality designs & models coming up. fiat is not a “badge” out there. but for average users fiat provides good vfm. in india, fiat has failed for many known & unknown strategic errors. with linea, probably, fiat more have a linear start.

Any idea in what engine variants the Linea would be powered with. There is lot of speculation going on in the market about the engine variants. Right from 1.3 diesel,
1.3 diesel VGT turbo, 1.4 diesel, 1.9 diesel and 1.4 petrol turbo.
Any one has reliable information from inside sources about the engine variants. Please post if it is reliable information for sure…
