After sales support has been the achilles heel for Ford for quite sometime now. The company makes some brilliant driver cars full but the public faith in the after service has’t been good. In a bid to revive customer faith, Ford has launched a new initiative called the “Roadside Assistance Programme” on the lines of Market leader Maruti Suzuki’s 24 Hour assistance. Under this programme, all new Ford car buyers will be offered free roadside assistance for a period of two years. The exisiting Ford car owners have also been given the option to avail the service for nominal yearly fee of Rs 1,100.

“Ford’s 24-hour service comes without any additional cost to the owner and is accessible through a national toll-free number providing on site assistance services that cover mechanical services, transportation of car to service centre if required, fuel delivery among others” Mr Scott McCormack, Vice-President, Marketing (Sales &Service) , Ford India said.

Vehicle Recovery

• If your vehicle is unable to be mobilized following a mechanical or electrical breakdown, a recovery vehicle will be sent to recover your vehicle to the nearest authorized Ford dealer.

Taxi

• If your vehicle is recovered to a dealer by Ford Service Roadside Assistance, the driver and passengers will be provided with one free taxi ride, up to 50km from the breakdown location, in order to continue your journey.

Vehicle Recovery following an Accident

• If your vehicle is unable to be mobilized following a road traffic accident, Ford Service Roadside Assistance will organize to send a recovery vehicle to recover your vehicle to the nearest authorized Ford dealer.
