GM Chevrolet Launches Spark LPG

Amid fear of GM’s Indian operations going bust in the wake of parent GM filing for bankruptcy, putting up a brave face, the company has launched the LPG Variant of the Spark small car in the Indian market.
“We plan to continue to introduce the variance of the Spark that targets different groups of customers. This will enable us to achieve our goal of becoming a market leader in India by giving our customers the vehicles that they want, when they want them,” General Motors India President and Managing Director Karl Slym told reporters at the launch.
GM India is also looking forward to launching its latest luxury sedan Cruze in the Indian market by September and an all new small car by the end of the current year.
Speaking on the financial troubles faced by the parent GM and its affect on the Indian operations he said “The bankruptcy filing was only for the US operations and our business here will continue as usual. All employees, suppliers and customers are partners of the company”.
The Spark LPG variant has been priced at Rs 3.52 Lakhs.
