India’s largest two-wheeler company, Hero Honda has reported a 27% jump in sales for the month of August at 3,05,516 units against 2,40,875 units in the corresponding month last year.

Cumulative sales for the April-August period also show a 19% increase to14,81,077 units compared to 12,44,919 units during the same period last year.

The strong showing has enabled the company to strengthen its position in the Indian 2 wheeler market with a market share of over 55%

“Our strategy is yielding results… however, the industry continues to face uncertainty on account of high interest rates and overall credit squeeze,” Hero Honda Motors Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Anil Dua said.

The coming festival month of October would be crucial in determining the overall outlook of the industry for the rest of the year, he added.

When people are genuinely happy with a product, it translates to long lasting good sales for the company. Keep up the good work Hero Honda & Contratualtions !

I really wonder what Hero is really doing to stand out in the midst of the storm. Sales are dipping for others and hero is still a hero. Perhaps the Honda tag is biting into the Honda motorcycles, the original wing-rider.

I have never been a Hero Honda fan, since I am not a Honda fan in the first place. I would however grudgingly agree that Honda’s engineering is fantastic and that they make great products. I think Hero Honda set bench marks right in the 1980s and are reaping the benefits of that. Shows why Honda and by extension Hero Honda enjoy such trust from so many buyers.

yeah right sadsack. it pinches me to accept the ’sindhi’ really did the business right. but the coming months may soon be the bike-dreamers era. with japanese bikes prevailing, people will break out of this monotony of heroes & the bajajs. r15 has been the tentative winner i must say. even with a price, which may of us presumed, inflated ahs been happily accepted. with rising expendable incomes, we see more qualitative choices in the horizon.
