Hero Honda Motors Ltd has joined the Twenty20 Indian Premier League (IPL) as a partner. This tournament is scheduled to begin on 16th April, 2008.

“Indian cricket, as indeed cricket worldwide, is witnessing historic developments with the highly innovative concept of IPL, and we are happy to be a part of it,” said Mr.Pawan Munjal, Managing Director, Hero Honda Motors Limited (HHML), in a statement. The Twenty20 format of the IPL is set to take cricket’s popularity to a new high, he added. He, however, did not disclose the financial details of the partnership.

“Hero Honda brings to the table its immense experience in the field of corporate association with cricket both at national and international level,” Mr.Modi added.
Hero Honda has been closely associated with cricket, and Indian cricketers such as Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Suresh Raina are presently its brand ambassadors.
