The i20 seems to be quite overpriced from what i can decipher.
too costly..following that it is having a same engine Kappa 1.2 using in i10
i m closely watching Auto industry trends in India… Looking at the futures and comfort level along with this attractive price list , the new sensational i20 sure will surely outclash the Skoda Fabia, and soon to be launched Honda Jazz…. Guys pls don compare it with Maruti Swift .. coz as far as i know these hyundai cars are always a class above Maruti in terms of Quality… May be thats y their prices too look little more than Maruti… but sure these cars always on higher league than Marutis….
with love for Indian Auto Industry
i m Looking for more competition in Quality among Indian cars and not in cheap dull products…. eagerly waiting for a perfect chanllenger to this mighty i20.
Dear Lokesh…
Engine only not add up the cost buddy …. the features… look at it in i20…..
also look the muscles of the car ….
I cannot understand why people have to be fans or enemies of companies and start judging products purely from that angle. The car is not yet on the road properly and the Honda Jazz is not arriving in a hurry so lets keep things quiet for now.
I dont always ride with my entire family stuffed into the car and using all the luxuries. So that way this BIG car does not makes sense with its price and NO i do not think Hyundai in any way produces better cars then Maruti. They are woefully lacking practical sense and thus are not able to sell majority of their cars in proper number. I love Maruti for being practically wise and thinking from an Indian point of view. I would rather call myself “Maruti Lover” rather then an “Auto Lover” if I dont have an iota of idea of what goes into the making of so called good cars.
I am not fan of particular brand but frankly i20 is overpriced. Hyundai should learn from past experience of GETz. At base price of 4.79lac, at which i can get Swift LDi, whats the reason to buy i20?
I am not quite convinced with the pricing. I would have consoled myself if I20 has somewhat powerful engine, 1.4 or 1.5L engine with 100PS power. 4.8Lakh (Chennai) for base version is quite high. Mind you, Hyundai cannot be compared with the Skoda. On the feature list, rear AC and tilt steering is a plus but i dont think 4.8Lakh is worth it, you dont even get air bags and ABS.
Looking at the specs (80 PS @ 5200 RPM), i think the car will be really sluggish at low RPM’s.
Do you think its worth it for this much amount?
Guys about the i20 the base varient Magna is pure value for money. 4.79lacs exshowroom price with music system, adjustable seat n steering, electronically controlled rear view mirror and much space in the dash borad, power windows. Where do u get all these stuff in other cars. Its a bit more priced than Swift VXI. But only point I doubt is i20 is 70 kilos heavier than swift and with 1.2 litre which is used in i10 too. So finally its lot more heavier than i10 and the engine is the same. So what happens to the mileage and pickup of i20. I really doubt the mileage will be a drawback in i20. Rest all is good. Magna is priced very attractively. And resale of hyundai is always less than marutis. This is also to be considered.
