JAGUAR SALES RISE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2 YEARS!

Jaguar XF 2009

Call it beginner luck or whatever, as soon as Ford offloaded the British marque Jaguar, the cat has leaped by posting its first sales increase in the last two years. Europe registered a 69.6% increase in sales in April mainly due to the hotselling XF sedan. The XF sedan has got rave review from the press and the enthusiasts alike. Jaguar already has around 18,000 customers in-line waiting for the new 4-door, which has given the sales a big lift. The ‘XF effect’ can be seen on other Jaguar models too, with the X type and the XJ selling reasonably.

The future looks reasonably good for Jaguar as the big cat has found a nice home in Tata’s. What remains to be seen is if this is a one off spike in sales or a sign of things changing for good, finally for Jaguar.

I am not being pessismistic and it is my fond hope and wish that under TATA the Jaguar brand will grow. However, for the time being let us not get too carried away because for a very slow selling brand an increase of 60 odd percent could simply mean selling of 15 or twenty cars more than what they have sold thus far. So let us not get too excited about this.

I totally agree with sadsack, you cant say much by gauging on figures of sale of a month. Whether the sales rise continously is to be seen.

Cheers
