When Jaguar launched the XK Coupe and Cabriolet a couple of years ago, they said it would only be offered with Petrol engines. That though process seems to have changed now becuase the times have changed. Audi’s had tremendous success with R10 TDI in Le Mans, the BMW 635D with the diesel engine and the idea of a diesel sportscar doesnt sound all that bad as it used to.

The power will come from a twin-turbo 3.0 litre version of the 2.7 V6 TDi already being used in Jaguar saloons as is one of the cleanest and most efficient engine in its class. The power is expected to be around 250 bhp coupled with a fuel efficiency rating of 30 mpg!
