After spy images, speculations and teaser video’s, Jaguar’s new XJ would be formally launched in a few hours from now in an exclusive event in London.

The new Jaguar XJ will compete in the rarified segment bustling with German saloons, namely the Merc S-Class, Audi A8 and the BMW 7-Series and as far as styling goes it looks like they have very strong competition.

The styling is utterly beautiful and is in keeping with Jaguar’s new design language which started with the XF saloon. The car looks sporty and elegant at the same time without looking too loud.

The new XJ will use the aerospace inspired aluminium body architecture which is being used for the first time in a car. The technology will also filter down to future Jaguar’s.

We will have all the details about the engine lineup after the formal launch today but 3.0 Litre twin turbo diesel, a naturally aspirated 5.0 Litre V8 and the supercharged version of the same engine are certain.
