Land Rover To Increase Production As Forecasts Suggest Increased Demand

2010 Range Rover Sport

Tata Motor’s owned Land Rover will increase production of the recently updated  Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Sport as forecast predict strong demand for these vehicles.

Range Rover Sport and Discover range has seen cosmetic and mechanical upgrades in the form of fresh styling and new engine throughout the range.

The mechanical upgrades include a new revised 5.0 Litre V8 engine in both naturally aspirated and supercharged forms, sixth generation Eaton Twin-vortex Roots-Type supercharger, Adaptive Dynamic suspension, larger brakes, improved stability control and DSC, Roll stability control and new Terrain response systems like Sand Launch Control and Rock Crawl mode.

The bad news is that there will be temporary shutdown at Land Rover’s factory in Halewood, Merseyside which produces the Freelander.

300 Jobs would also be lost at Halewood once the production of X-type comes to an end. Jaguar Land Rover have said that the loses will be through voluntary redundancies.
