These are the intial pictures of the new Audi R8 Spyder which is all set to make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The speculations about the spyder were confirmed with the launch of the R8 V10 model at the detroit motor show this year in January.

The Audi R8 Spyder will feature a full convertible soft-top roof instead of the smaller targa set-up. Other major changes compared to the coupe are strengthened chassis floor to make up for the lack of roof, a pair of additional air intakes located behind the front seats and a pair of rollover safety bars.

The R8 Spyder is expected to come with the 5.2 Litre V10 engine exclusively which develops 525 bhp and 391 lb-ft of torque.

Its also said that Tony Stark will also upgrade his R8 to Spyder in the sequel to the Iron Man movie.
