MAHINDRA LAUNCHES THE BOLERO VLX WITH CRDE ENGINE & BOLERO SPECIAL EDITION

Mahindra Bolero VLX CRDe

Mahindra & Mahindra’s Bolero is a very down to earth vehicle. A simple vehicle with simple mechanicals, its very tough and very reliable too.  And although it has its fair share of fan following, the Bolero falls short when the refinement and desirability factors are concerned.

To make it appeal to a winder audience and to enhance its appeal further, M&M has launched a new variant of the Bolero called the VLX. Most notable change to the vehicle is the substantially more powerful CRDe variant of the 2.49 Litre diesel engine which makes a very healthy 97 bhp with a maximum torque of 255 Nm available from 1800-2200 rpm.

The new unit apart from being more powerful and fuel efficient is also a lot more refined giving a new character to the rugged workhorse from Mahindra.

“The Bolero VLX offers a quantum leap in power and performance due to an Electronic Computer Controlled engine
management system. It also offers a superior driving experience and an advanced level of refinement with reduced
NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) levels. This rugged, yet stylish SUV has enough power to whip up a storm and is
ideal for the young, urban customer who takes to the city and the open road with equal ease,” said Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.

The new Bolero is priced at Rs. 6.9 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom) Jaipur.

Mahindra Bolero Special Edition

The company also launched the Special Edition Bolero which comes in two exclusive, exquisite colours: Mist Silver and Golden Sahara Beige. The special edition comes with european leather upholstery and comes with a CD/MP3 player.

The special edition is priced at Rs. 6.49 Lakh (Ex-Showrrom) Jaipur.

Mahindra launches the Bolero VLX with CRDe technology
September 29th 2008, Jaipur: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), the leader in the UV segment in India, today launched the most powerful Bolero yet - the Bolero VLX with CRDe technology. The modern 2.49L Common Rail Diesel Engine (CRDe) belts out an awesome 97 HP and ensures a superior pick-up with smoother drive. The Bolero VLX is priced at Rs. 6.9 lakhs (ex-showroom Jaipur). “The Bolero VLX offers a quantum leap in power and performance due to an
Electronic Computer Controlled engine management system. It also offers a superior driving experience and an
advanced level of refinement with reduced NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) levels. This rugged, yet stylish SUV has
enough power to whip up a storm and is ideal for the young, urban customer who takes to the city and the open road with
equal ease,” said Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.

In the Bolero VLX, injection pressure independent of the engine speed and flat torque over a wide speed range ensure greater driveability and control. An advanced active surge damper reduces jerks during gear shifts to offer a smooth ride.
The superior NGT 530R transmission and upgraded front suspension are ideal to take on tough terrain. The Bolero VLX also features a sophisticated Voice Assist System which makes the drive safer through an audio alert which warns the driver in case the door is left open or a seat belt is unfastened.
The vehicle’s stunning body graphics add a dash of style to this powerful SUV. The premium dual-tone upholstery and elegant seating ensures that passengers travel in comfort while the stylish dashboard and trendy instrument cluster add a touch of class to the interiors. The soft grip, leather wrapped steering wheel has a sporty feel and enhances driver comfort.
Bolero Special Edition also launched
The company also launched the Bolero Special Edition with exciting new features and an exclusive look, priced at Rs. 6.49 lakhs (exshowroom Jaipur). With its sporty appearance and plush interiors, the Bolero Special Edition is based on extensive customer feedback and is meant for the young, urban customer who likes to stand apart from the crowd. The
Special Edition is available in two exclusive, exquisite colours: Mist Silver and Golden Sahara Beige. The subtle body graphics on the sides and bonnet add to the designer effect, while the aluminium mesh gives the SUV a unique and rugged appeal. The smart exterior of the vehicle is further complemented by its luxurious interiors.

The rich, European leather upholstery with premium black lining and Special Edition branding adds a touch of class, while the CD-MP3 player keeps you entertained through your journey. The Bolero is India’s most popular SUV and the clear favourite across the country, a validation of the superior value it offers, its ability to traverse all kinds of terrain and to
cater to a diverse range of customers. In 2007-08, the Bolero became the first brand in the SUV/UV/MPV category to cross 50,000 units in one year, making it India’s No. 1 SUV brand for three years in a row.

thats a great work. it is what exactly bolero needed. should see how does it drive cause at times it is very harsh. but if something can be done for the middle row seat comfort then it would be really great.

They should not have detuned the engine so much.

i think its the right time that mahindra has introduced the long awaited bolero crde 2.5. its going to be a good, economical suv hitting straight at the tata sumo grande which is pricier than bolero vlx. they should have introduced it with new interiors specially the dashboard and the awkwward electric window console..its placed at a very ood place just behind the handbrake. high time mahindra should think about car ergonomics!!!! i think wat mahindra intends to do is stop production of the scorpio 2.6 crde( found in lx, dx, slx variants) and make the buyesr go for bolero crde instead. at the other end they may introduce more lower variants of scorpio 2.2 to the public in order rule the suv/muv market. it should be noted that though the bolero looks outdated its the fastest selling suv within a year(510127 units) in indian automotive history. and its also high time they introduce the new Logan which was launched in europe some months ago in order rule in the midsize car market!!!!.

BOLERO with a CRD Engine  But it should have been with better interiors, front and rear fog lamps, tiltabe steering, front two SRS Airbags,ABS,5 seat seating confugiration, top hinged tailgate, roof rail, and above all coil spring rear suspenssion. With these features,no doubt BOLERO would defenitely give competitors a hard time, may be even to SCORPIO.

Awaited Bolero, ultimately mahindra & mahindra launched the vehicle with crde engine. it’s nice to see on road. From my point of view compare to other vehicle, the bolero is the best on road. From comparison poin of view bolero is far bettter than the scorpio (maintenance, roadgrip, wheel displacement).
Some people still they are in confuse, to which vehicle they should go, guys my advice is go for bolero worth for ur investment. Maintenance is very low compare to crde scorpio.

glad knowing that Mahindra & Mahindra launched new Bolero CRDE. But its bit sad for us who just owned Bolero SLX on the mid part of 2008.

well ,guys before you go gagaga about the crde bolero please consider that though it has got the much needed and awaited crde heart it still does not have very basic thiings like ventilation windscreen defogger, child locks, folding rear seat. suspension remains the same at rear front yes now all the jerks are not transmitted to the steering!!
The AC has also been untouched.
Company is quiteabout turbo in the engine and the expected mileage.I shall still suggest extend a little and go for scorpio you only get music system and not needed voice assist system in this one.
Mahindra service is not tuned to handle owners only drivers
