MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA SCORPIO MHAWK AUTOMATIC OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED!

India’s largest UV maker, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) have officially announced the Automatic Transmission variant of their best selling Scorpio. The Scorpio mHAWK AT will be commercially available from December 2008 onwards.

The automatic version of Scorpio looks just the same as the regular mHAWK except for the badging at the rear but weights 70 kgs more than the manual variant.

The automatic transmission is an advanced 6-speed unit which comes from Australia’s International systems. The company has been fine tuning the system for Indian road and traffic conditions. One of the test cars was also caught testing in the Mumbai traffic in April this year.

M&M earlier has already announced that it will enter the American market with the Automatic Version of the Scorpio. Automatic transmission unlike India is the default choice for most American car buyers. More than 90% of the cars sold in America come with Automatic trannies as standard.

The estimated price will be close to Rs. 11.5 Lakh on-road Delhi.
