MAHINDRA SAYS ‘NO’ TO HUMMER!
Considered one of the strongest suitors for GM’s famed off-road marque, the Hummer, India’s UV major Mahindra & Mahindra has now pulled itself out of the race after the Vice Chairman of M&M, Mr. Anand Mahindra denied any intentions of buying the off road brand.
“There has been a lot of speculation. I want to say categorically we are not pursuing HUMMER”, he said. That should put an end to all the speculation and rumours that are running around and comparisons with Tata Motors take over of the Jaguar and Land Rover.
Mahindra becomes the third company to refuse Hummer after Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska and China’s Hunan Changfeng Motor co. took an exit from the race for the off-road brand.

Good move by Mahindra, Hummer will incur losses nothing else.
By buying the Hummer brand the Mahindras would only have acquired a white elephant.
The are two different things why would they want to take on Hummer, it just doesn’t make any logic!!!!
I dont see any reason for Mahindra to buy out Hummer. Good decision Anand Mahindra.
I disagree.
If M&M had bought Hummer at an attractive enough price, they would have had access to very-hard-to-get technical knowhow at the topmost end of the market (despite their attempt at it through AXE). This could have been incorporated into their other vehicles which would have put them far ahead of competition in the volume segment.
Anyways. My 2 bits. cheers
