MAHINDRA SCORPIO PICK-UP SPIED IN USA!

Mahindra Scorpio pick up USA

Yes our very own Scorpio Pick up caught in the Yanky land. The car unlike India wouldn’t be called Scorpio and was expected to be called the Appalachian. The pick-up is again ‘yet to be named’ and the company will instead highlight the “Mahindra” tag to create brand awareness in what is considered to be the toughest automobile market.

Mahindra Scorpio USA Spied

The Pick up for America will comes with the same 2.2 litre inline 4-cylinder mHawk engine launched recently in India, albeit with more power and torque. The power output is expected to be around 150 bhp with 300 lb-ft of torque. Also taking into consideration America’s liking for automatics, the pick up will come with a six-speed automatic transmission with a floor mounted console shifter and probably steering wheel mounted paddles to shift manually!

The company also claims that the truck will carry a max. payload of upto 1.3 tonnes in its large 7.5 feet long cargo area. It will also come with a 60,000 miles, four year bumper to bumper warranty.

with gas prices rising to 140 dollars a barrel and costing around 5 dollars a gallon the sales of TRUCKS in USA have gone down day by day and MAHINDRA is planning to launch a truck there. God this is foolish step by mahindra

Someone clearly doesn’t get it.

The whole point of the truck is to provide a small, fuel efficient pickup for those who actually have practical uses for such a vehicle. Judging by the initial responses, quite a few people in America are warming up to the idea.

Hey, don’t take my word for it. Spend some time at Autoblog.

Hey Synn, indeed for practical purpose like towing and carrying loads, trucks are good choice, but people here prefer trucks that are well built and powerful like Silverado, F150 and above, Nissan Titan among others. 150 Bhp won’t get mahindra anywhere.. And from your note it seems Scorpio is already in market or wat, here it says its caught testing. So still a while to go for Scorpio. Moreover A.S.S. is also important which won’t be as developed in America like Ford and Chevy. Anyways only time will tell whether they did a good job of launching a truck

Till then chill

This car isnt classified as a full sized truckin the USA so compairing it with the Ford F150 and Silerado isnt justified.

Kill Bill: It’s not a full size truck and that’s the whole point. People are sick and tired of those fuel guzzling behemoths that can’t even do real off-roading. They need something smaller, more fuel efficient and utilitarian. This is the market Mahindra is aiming at and from what I see at Autoblog, they definitely are getting attention.
