MARUTI SUZUKI A-STAR: SUZUKI REVEALS A-STAR AHEAD OF THE PARIS MOTOR SHOW

 Maruti Suzuki A-Star

Suzuki has revealed the first images of its all new mini, the A-Star which is all set to debut at the upcoming Paris Motor show in October. The Indian version A-Star will come with 4-doors instead of the two-door car shown in the images. The A-Star will replace the Alto in the European market while it will be continue to be sold alongside the Alto and Wagon-R in India.

The styling as we said has been toned down from the concept car which was first unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year. The high bonnet line, low grille and the vertically stacked ’toddler eye’ headlamps at the front make it look ‘cute’ and ‘cheeky’ at the same time. The shoulder line sweeps upwards just like the Swift as it meets the rear quater panel resulting in smaller glass house for the rear windows which might not go well with the passengers sitting at the back. Overall, the car is well rounded and the cute looks will appeal to everyone.

Jump over for more details and images.

The power will come from a  newly developed 1.0 Litre Aluminum K series engine from Suzuki which is Euro 5 Compliant with CO2 emission less than 109 gm/km! The cute little car will be one of the greenest car in terms of emissions to be sold in India when it is launched.

The interiors look great too for a budget hatch with swooping dashboard and huge A/C vents in the middle and circular vents for the sides. The HVAC controls are circular just like other Maruti hatches and are placed at almost same level as the Swift. An interesting touch is the tachometer console which sprouts from the dashboard and looks very much aftermarket, very ‘boy racer’ types, which goes along well with the overall personality of the car.

The car will be built at Maruti’s new plant in Manesar.
