India’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki Ltd. has raised the prices once again. The price of the newly launched Dzire has been increased by a whopping 18,000 Rs. The Swift has seen a revision of prices as well with the Petrol Variant costing  9000 Rs more and the Diesel variant with the 1.3 JTD going up by 15,000 Rs.

Maruti’s premium offering in the midsize sedan segment SX4 has seen a price increase of 9000 Rs. The other small car models have also seen a revision in prices, Versa prices have been increased by Rs. 800o, Wagon-R is costlier by Rs. 2000 and the 800 costlier by further Rs. 2500. The least amount of increase has been for the Zen Estilo by Rs. 1000.

 Maruti says that rising steel prices have made it increase prices. Maruti had also raised prices earlier this year in february. While other car makers have also increased prices, Maruti’s has done it twice with in a span of 4-months and the price increase has been hefty for Swift and the SX4.
