MARUTI SUZUKI ROLLS OUT LIMITED EDITION 800 ‘UNIQ’

Maruti Suzuki Logo India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki has rolled out a limited edition 800 ‘Uniq’ in a bid to revive sales of its oldest brand the M800. The car comes only in the A/C version and will cost Rs. 52,00 over the regular 800 A/C model which is priced at Rs 2,11,176 Ex-Showroom Delhi.

Maruti has already started dispatching the car which would come only in the A/C variant to its nationwide dealers since yesterday. The car comes with a range of new features such as body graphics, all new beige upholstery, trendy door trims with fabric inserts, smart lower console box, rear package tray, stylish dome decals to attract young consumers.

“The ides is to make it an automatic choice of people, who love ‘Uniq’ things in life” said the company release.

The company hopes to boost Maruti 800 sales which have been going down steadily. So far in April to June the company has sold 16,649 units of 800 down from 17,994 units for the same period last year, down by 7.47 percent. The company had also launched the LPG version of the 800 sometime back.

800 is an iconic brand in India and since its launch 25 years ago, has sold more than 25,00,000 units in the domestic market. The company has also exported 183,000 units of this model.

The new 800 ‘Uniq’ will be formally available in company showrooms across India from August 4.

Its nice to know that maruti has revamped 800 once again , but if they have to compete with the nano mania and keep this 800 moving then they have to reduce the price of this model , if not to 1Lakh then atleast to 1.5 Lakh . I personally feel that this price tag will keep 800 going , cause this will be a much better car then the nano , this is a well tried and tested car with the lowest after sale expences and with maruti services backing you .
