New 2009 Honda Activa Launched!

Honda has launched the new Activa in the Indian market today. The changes are comprehensive this time with new front and rear styling, bigger engine and Honda’s CBS (Combined Braking System) a first on any two wheeler in India.
The aerodynamically redesigned front end is curvy with an all new headlamp while the change to the rear include a set of clear lens indicators. Honda’s has also made use of impact resistant ABS plastic panels in the interests of lower weight, fuel economy and performance. The 110cc air cooled engine now makes a healthy 8 bhp @ 7500 rpm and 0.9 kgm of maximum twist @ 5500 rpm. The new Active also comes with Honda’s CBS (Combined Braking System) a first for any two wheeler in India, a system which automatically applies front braking force when rear brake is applied resulting in short stopping distances and no skidding which in turn increases the overall safety.
The fuel tank capacity has been reduced to 5.3 Litres while the underseat storage space has increased to a generous 18 Litres, enough to keep a full faced helmet easily. Other features include glovebox which is still optional, key shutter and rear tuff up tube which decreases the chances of a puncture.
The new Activa has the same ground clearance as the old model at 145 mm while the length and breadth are now 1761 mm and 710 mm respectively, slightly down from 1765 mm and 715 mm earlier. The saddle height stands at 765 mm up 5 mm from the earlier 760 mm. The new Activa will be available in a total of six colors: Geny Grey Metallic, Candy Lucid Red, Black, Force Silver Metallic, Wild Purple Metallic and Pearl Sunbeam White.

The new Activa comes in two variants - Standard and Deluxe. The deluxe version comes with CBS which will come in a little later. The Activa Standard has been priced at Rs 39,800 Ex-Showroom, New Delhi.

A clear demonstration of why Honda succeeds when others fail. Seems like this will push the Activa brand and sales higher.
But now Activa can not do the cake walk like 2000.Now many strong contenders are present.

Honda seem to have given up competing with the leaders. Access and Flyte were the first to introduce the 125cc engine, front telescopic shocks and front fueling - all very useful features. Honda’s answer was a non starter called Aviator with the front wheel larger than the rear making rotating of the tyres impossible. This large tire was then advertised by honda as a first! Now honda has introduced the new Activa. The only thing new is the combined brake. It used to be Kinetic that would come up with such superficial upgrades like two tone job, luggage lights etc.
Difficult to know if Honda has any game plan or just wandering around for someone to put it out of its misery.

The new Activa Deluxe is a good buy and value for money.Drive comfort of Honda whether its a scooter or car is superb.
Look to the positives guys and enjoy the ride.
Did you think of the Access? A friend claims he gets a mileage of around 50 km/l for city and higher for highway driving for the Access with extra pickup and power to boot.

New activa people are hesitant to buy evident from sales figures which have dropped by 30percent dealers are under pressure to keep up their image.Honda is reluctant to change back to old metal bodied activa with 102cc. This engine is not giving expected fuel efficiency as presumed , however dealers are telling gullible customers for its run-in period for engine, which is not true .Spare part cost are thorugh the roof and one should know that any activa every after warranty service at showroom cost not less than 3000 rs and at road side mechanic atleast 1000 Rs due to replaceing of variator pulley, replacing broken silencer bolts,replacement of plug, brakedrums etc.

Honda activa is good but its have some minus points. Other companies are producing 125cc scooter like suzuki access125 but activa coming with 110 cc now. Also it is my suggestion that if activa can provide stepney with scooter than it will be good for rider. It can be fitted in the lower body at rear tyre like LML vespa

I have got new honda activa 1 week back.There is lots of change compare to previous activa.Its really comfortable while riding.I get mileage 55 in highway and 50 in the city.Value for money.My uncle as got access comparing 2 vehicle activa is the best.Access as got 125cc power and roadgrip is better then activa but there is no leg space and not so comfortable.You cant go long drive your leg will be paralyze in access.For smooth and comfort ride go for activa.Get the test ride today you will come to know.

Honda Activa Deluxe is good or Standard i am paying 2000 more for Deluxe does its worth.
cbc is more like gimmicry,if u ask me,pal..unless u r a brand new rider,anyone wud want to modulate brakes on their own i guess..mayb this is hondas idea of brake assist:) and payin 2k more for a glovebox??? talk abt ridiculous! honda no doubt makes good machines,but they shouldnt ruin the goodwill ppl have for honda by ridiculous marketing tactics like charging for glovebox..
