New Honda Accord V6 Launched!

Honda Siel Motors India have launched the V6 version of its flaghip luxury sedan, Accord in the Indian market.
Honda has done a full monty contrary to the report which suggested a detuned motor. Under the hood is a 3.5 Litre V6 engine which generates a very healthy 275 bhp at 6200 rpm and a massive 339 nm of torque at 5000 rpm. The engine is a very high tech unit with tehnologies such as driver by wire, Variable Cylinder Management (VCM), Active Noise Control and Active Control Engine Mount System.

Dissapointingly though, there is still no manual option. The standard fare is the 5-speed Automatic gearbox with paddle shifts on the steering wheel in case you want to choose the ratio’s manually.
Extrernally the new Accord V6 comes with 17 inch alloy wheels, dual chrome exhaust tips, bold front grille, side protectors, illuminated side step garnish and OVRM mounted turn indicators.
The insides have now been updated with wooden inserts while cruise control and vehicle stability control are standard on the V6.
There is also a sports variant which adds a subtle body kit with front and rear under spoiler and side skirts.
The new Accord V6 is priced b/w Rs 24.8 Lakhs and 25.35 Lakhs Ex-Showroom Delhi.
Jump over for VCM and ANC explained.
With its flexible use of cylinders, the unique VCM (Variable Cylinder Management) technology virtually gives you three engines in one car. During start-up, accelerating or heading uphill, it will fire all six cylinders to give you the maximum power. Once you’ve reached cruising speed, it would automatically drop down to four cylinders, or even three, if it is an easy cruise. This maximizes both performance and fuel economy.
To achieve the same quietness and smoothness, as when running on all six cylinders, new Active Control Engine Mounts (ACM) and Active Noise Control (ANC) systems have been designed to complement the VCM technology

The ACM (Active Control Engine Mount System) cancels out engine vibration, ensuring a smoother, more comfortable ride. You can enjoy a silent ride with the ANC (Active Noise Control) which nullifies unwanted noise by generating out-of-phase sound waves, that may occur due to the harmonics of cylinder operation.

what a waste. due to the rising prices of honda it will not be a success. i guess people do not understand the technology well to make them buy it. 25l ex showrrom is a whooping amount though 275 horses sounds good.
@ admin
there is a small correction. I think its not “driver by wire” as mention but “drive by wire”
Any information on the grille? The grille shown in the picture, is it standard on all V6 versions of the Accord or is it only the sport version?
@ Ranjit..
Bro there is a certain segment of ppl who WILL buy a HONDA. there will always be a preference to the ivtec engines. i wud prefer an accord 3.5 to a merc c class.. anyday.. regardless of the fuel type.. honda rules!
