BMW reportedly is working on the stripped to bare, track version of the M3 called the M3 ‘CSL’ which will be unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor show along with updated 2010 M3 model. Like the previous CSL, this new version will come without radio, sat-nav and Airconditioner to save weight while the front apron, hood, roof, side panels and rear bumper will be replaced with carbon fibre bits.

The power will come from the same 4.2 litre V8 engine but with uprated power output of 470 bhp up 50 bhp from the earlier 420 bhp couple that with much lighter body and we have a car thats seriously fast. 0-60 mph times should be under 4.5 seconds with an expected top speed of 185 mph. Only 100 units of the M3 CSL will be made with an estimated price tag of 90,000 Euros. Its not the first time BMW has stripped M3 of all the features and jacked up the price but this will be a hugely exciting automobile to drive… its will be BMW at its absolute best.
