NEXT GEN PORSCHE BOXSTER TO GET A FOUR-CYLINDER ENGINE!

Next Gen Porsche Boxster to come with a four cylinder engine

The next generation of Porsche Boxster will feature a 4-cylinder engine for the first time. According to Insider sources, the entry level Porsche Boxster expected in 2011 will have a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with just over 200 bhp on tap.

The details are still scarce but this would definitely be the most economical Porsche ever.

Currently the smallest engine in the Porsche line up comes in the form of Boxster and Cayman, both with a 2.7 Litre engine which emits 222g/km of CO2.

The next generation Boxster will offer significant weight reduction over the current models so as to not hurt the performance and handling much.

 A (just over), 200hp Boxter why!? Porsche’s are supposed to be fast. Yes it can be argued that it will have a very light weight body and engine, so still quick off the line. But if you want a little eco racer, buy a john cooper works mini. If your driving a 2 seater your hardly doing you’re best to be economical when others are car pooling in hybrids next to you, so why bother. Wouldn’t want to splurge on a proper porsche if some posers gonna be driving the toy version next to me.
