The Renault Sandero

This is an artist’s rendering  of what could be the next generation Logan. How are we so sure? Well Renault Sandero which was launched recently in Brazil is based on the Logan platform, codenamed B0 and makes it the hatchback option among already long  list of Logan platform spawned models, namely the MCV, the VAN and soon to be launched pick up truck. Hence it is only logical to assume that the same changes will also be carried on to the next generation Logan too.

The reason for the change is also obvious. Although a nice roomy car, the looks are not its strong point,  “boxy, but good” most call it. The Logan has done really well in European markets but hasnt been doing great outside of it, including the key emerging asian markets, majorly due to its appearance. Therefore changing the looks will surely benefit and also help Renault ambition to garner sizeable share of the automobile markets in burgeoning economies. 

Have a look at the artist’s rendering and the spy pictures and similarities in the profile and the shape are not very hard to notice. 

 

Although the rendering shows a notchback aka Octavia, we will put our money on a proper sedan body given that this style is more popular in emerging markets like India, where a three box car is considered to be a status symbol.
