Nissan Launches New Teana And X-Trail

Nissan has launched the new Teana and X-Trail in the Indian market today.

The new upper midsize saloon from Nissan get an all new front and rear styling and upgraded interiors with large sunroof and ventilated air conditioned front seats… a first in its segment.

The front end is dominated by huge grille while the sweeping arch bodyline reflects an elegant distinguised image. At the rear, combination LED tail lamps give a three dimensional geometric look to the back end which looks impressive in profile.

The cockpit like interiors have a long list of standard equipments and are both better looking and better built compared to the current version. The front and rear seats are exceptionally comfortable and perfectly cushioned and are unrivalled even when compared to you favourite sofa! The space all around is more than adequate too. The wooden finish on the trim is very convencing while the simply laid out easy to use controls will be a delight for anyone.

The all new V6 engine now displaces 2.5 litres and serves up 180 smooth and creamy horses at the command of your right foot and is mated to Nissan’s Xtronic CVT transmission. The six-point mounted engine also offers lower NVH for a smooth and quiet drive.

The underpinnings are all new and are based on Nissa’s D-Platform which features a traverse mounted engine with front wheel drive for powerful midsize Nissans.

Braking is handled by disc brakes all around and the car rides on 16 inch or 17 inch alloy wheels depending on the variant.

The new Teana has been priced at Rs 21.03 Lakhs for the Ex variant and Rs 25.08 Lakhs for the SLX variant, all prices Ex-Showroom Delhi.

The new X-Trail’s styling takes cues from the older variant but has been refined to a large extent. The visible hood corners and vertical windscreen provides ease of driving with high eye point in the process also increasing visibility and henc safety. The lower waistline along the sides ensure good visibility all around.

The rear is dominated by what Nissan calls as Hyper Roof-rail with lamps and vertical three dimensional tail lamps.

The interiors are an evolution of current car’s interiors with the same squarish and retro design theme. New unique touches are the cooled cup holders on the dash and at the rear.

The new X-Trail comes with a 2.0 Litre common rail turbodiesel engine which delivers 150 bhp and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The gearbox channels the power to an intelligent all wheel drive configuration which gives the X-Trail a degree of offroad capability. The all mode 4X4 system integrates sensors and control technologies like ESP to continually analyze driving conditions and terrain in real time and assigns just the right amount of torque to each wheel for optimum control and stability. The ESP system also offers Hill Ascent and Descent control.

The new X-Trail is priced at Rs 20.81 Lakhs for the LT version and Rs 23.18 Lakhs for the SLX version, all prices Ex-Showroom, Delhi.
