OFFICIAL: AUDI A6 FACELIFT, DETAILS AND FIRST PICTURES
This is the new facelifted Audi A6. Despite the continuous arrival of new cars for the past 12 months, the company has found out time to update its 5-Series, E-Class and Jaguar XF rival. With subtle revision of the exterior and interiors, the facelifted Audi A6 also comes with new petrol and diesel engines and enhanced safety equipment.

Among the new engines is a supercharged 3.0 Litre V6 engine and a frugal 2.0 Litre turbodiesel engine for the corporate driver. The new force inducted petrol 3.0 Litre V6 TFSI makes a very healthy 286 bhp and 310 lb-ft of torque between 2500-4850 rpm. The power is enough to propel A6 from standing start to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds and to a standard electrically limited top speed of 155 mph. The engine also returns 29.5 mpg in the combined driving cycle and CO2 emissions of just 219 g/km. The new petrol engine replaces the earlier 3.2 FSI V6 and the 4.2 Litre V8.
The highly economical 2.0 Litre turbodiesel comes with a modest 135 bhp @ 4000 rpm and 235 lb-ft of torque at 1750 rpm enough for a 10.3 second run to 100 kph and a 129 mph top speed. The performance figures wont set your pulse racing but then that’s not the purpose of this diesel, with 53.5 mpg and 139 g/km of CO2 this will put a smile on the face of any fleet owner. The A6 also comes with a on-demand power steering pump, an alternator capable of regenerating energy during constant driving, 20 mm lower ride height and a specially developed long legged 6-Speed manual gearbox. A 170 bhp version of the same engine will also come out later in the year.
Ride and Handling have also been improved with new springs and larger diameter shock absorbers with revised valve system at the front. The Quattro four wheel drive models will now feature the 40/60 split for enhanced rear wheel drive characterstics.
Subtle visual changes to the exteriors include a revised front grille, headlmaps, modified bumper and air intakes. The saloon also features an integrated bootlid spoiler. New tail lamps and a rear diffuser complete the changes to the exteriors.
The insides now feature high resolution instruments, a tweaked MMI Interface with 40 GB hard drive, 3D Mapping for the Sat Nav system and an all new blindspot lane departure warning system.
The transmission options remain the same with 6 speed manual, 6-speed tiptronic automatic and a seven speed multitronic CVT automatic.
The S-line sports package remains an option across majority of models and adds day time running lights, 18 inch alloys, sport tuned suspension with 30 mm lower ride height.
