Yamaha Motor India has finally launched the YZF R15. After all these months of speculation on the power output, oscillating from 16 bhp to even 22 bhp… we finally know how much power does it have…. a dissapointing 17 PS!
Although power output is quite a bit lower than what we had expected, but look at the brighter side, its the lightest 150cc bike around, atleast 20 kgs lighter than any other 150cc and 30 kgs lighter than 200+ cc’s, most aerodynamic and transmission losses we hear are minimal. And then there’s the superb delta box frame, light years ahead of the iron twin tube frames we have, which will make a Rossi out of even ordinary riders. As they say “The proof of the pudding is in the tasting” so for once please hold your horses before passing a judgment.
We will reserve our judgement until we ride the bike and so should you!
Here are the full specifications

The recent hike in petroleum prices have spurt the demand for CNG conversion kits in New Delhi. The demand has more than doubled according to manufacturers and retailers. The demand is understandable though, in times when the petrol and diesel prices have increased and may be increased even further, CNG prices have actually dipped last month!
Mukesh Garg, proprietor of Badarpur-based Eco Gas said: ‘‘The inquiries for kits have doubled. We are now fitting about 10 kits daily as against just 5 earlier. Still we are not being able to meet the demand because of lack of infrastructure. And, there’s a lot of scope for the demand to grow further. While about 30,000 new cars hit city roads each month, there are just about 4,500 conversions to CNG being done in Delhi.’’Â
