POLL: IS INDICA VISTA QUADRAJET GOOD ENOUGH TO UPSTAGE SUZUKI SWIFT DIESEL?

Maruti Suzuki Swift Diesel VS Tata Indica Vista Quadrajet

For those who have test driven both the cars, please tell us what do you think? And while you are at it, also the reason why do you think either one of them is better than the other?

Isn’t that poll a little biased - with a “sure it can” being the strongest in favour of the Vista :) ?

» Motorbeam.com said: { Aug 27, 2008 - 07:08:00 }

Well the new Vista is a move in the right direction, Tata can surely upset Swift Diesel sales.

» sandeep said: { Aug 27, 2008 - 07:08:59 }

Any one could please tell me what would be the mileage of the new indica vista quadrajet and as well as the tdi.
Swift is surely giving 18-20km/l diesel in city, will it be same with the indicavista or lesser/more??????????????????

» admin said: { Aug 27, 2008 - 07:08:02 }

@Sameer… “You must be kidding” is strongly in favour of swift so it kinda evens out :grin:

Having ridden swift diesel a couple of times,i must say it’s awesome.With the same engine under the hood,the vista can sure give tough times for the swift.Also,since the waitng period for swift vdi is long(dunno what will be the case with the vista)people may turn to the tata.I just think so…..in my opinion… :mrgreen:

» ajay said: { Aug 28, 2008 - 09:08:55 }

indica vs swift! you must be kidding guys, cmon guys swift is not about the engine, its the most exciting hatch on indian roads, its about style, sporty looks, good built and option of decent petrol and amazing diesel engines. Indica even if uses same engine with little better torque specs on paper is still percieved as taxi, cheap dirty looking car. the new vista is also not very great looking (apart from the stylish headlamps) i am sure it will come with typical tata cheap quality of materials and pathetic service backup. in short swift is the still best car in premium hatch market.
i dont think Indica will upset Swift sales.

Having driven Fiat Palio Multijet, Swift Diesel and now the New Indica Vista, I think the Vista is would be a great buy. The engine is superb. Power delivery is very smooth. Suspension is much much better than Swift. The car looks and feels very solid and stable while driving. Overall the fit and finish is good but the rubber linings for the Windscreen from the outside could have been better. I think that could be a pestering problem for the owners. On the whole it is a good buy. Just hope it does not become a taxi car like the Indica V2. Great job Tata…….but the car can be improved to a greater extent still in my opinion.

had a look at the Indica Vista yesterday. Although could not take a test drive as i was late had a thorough feel of the car in general. On the external front the car has ceratinly come of age and looks mature now ( compared to boyish looks of swift) . On the interior front it looks much better than the swift layout and material colour / finish. Indica was always a roomy car and this new version is more roomier and swift doesnt stand a chance here. There are some issues like fit and finish which could be taken care of ( like the door panel was not aligned etc.) but overall the car looks good and definitely from inside anyday than swift. We all have developed a habit to crib about TATA cars , its finish, it being popular in taxi market. But isnt it a sign of reliability being popula in taxi market? Also many other models feom other companies are also into taxi market(like Esteem, wagon R Santro etc.) so why cribb about TATA only. Another thing..like someone said above…is that we like to end it by saying the car could be still improved..but in what aspect ? no one says. And c’mon guys, its TATA cars we are checking out not Merc ..so we should know what to expect of what. In that sense no car is perfect to me. o sum it up i would congratulate TATA guys for making a great effort. Keep it up. Am looking forward to the new INdigo that would be launched on same platform.

To be honest I wouldn’t be able to chose either of these cars, but then again I have never driven either too so it would be a lie if I said that they are bad.

WHTS A ENGINE DETAIL COMPARING TO SWIFT

» rajesh said: { Aug 29, 2008 - 02:08:31 }

i have taken a test drive of the indica vista diesel ,i was surprised when i started the engine it was so silent .the pick up was really good and the best part i look into a diesel car is when i put the fifth gear after reaching 80km per hr i applied breakes and it came to around 40 kmph and i came to 3rd gear and the pull back to 80 kmph was really good and the other thing is even at slow speed in the city its pulling off in the 3rd and 4th gear also …..thumbs up for TATA…

:twisted: no way u r really kidding me by asking swift or vista. Swift is a fun loving car and service quality given by maruthi will rest u in peace, service by tata dealers and worst to the core. Realiablity should be an issue in vista also. It never gives u quality or looks for the premium tata is demanding.I had a look at vista yesterday morning, i hate the centerally mounted speedo, I THINK I WILL HAVE TO PEEP :!: IN TO THE SPEEDO CONSOLE TO LOOK AT THE TACHOMETER , POOR ADOPTION TATA. :shock: .
only adavantage is the FIAT diesel :mrgreen:
Palio Multijet is a better option than vista, it would atleast give u a better build quality.

BUT FOR ME SWIFT IS THE BEST PREMIUM HATCHBACK AS OF NOW.
LETS WAIT AND WATCH THE i20 AND NEW AVEO

Oh! What a Magic from TATA!!!……… It is sure that INDICA VISTA AURA with QUADRAJET engine will demolish the SUZUKI SWIFT likely how HYUNDAI SANTRO beats MARUTI ZEN in the earlier years!!!!!!!!

» Deepak said: { Aug 30, 2008 - 11:08:00 }

Guys Let’s clear this first , It’s between two good cars - The Swift and the Vista . To be more precise , it’s between the Swift Diesel and Vista Quadrajet as the Safire is no match for the superlative 87hp creamy motor of the Swift . So Swift retains it’s ‘Fun to drive’ crown with the Swift petrol . No competition there period.
In the war of diesels , Vista with it’s superior features, killer pricing , space and practicality would win hands down . But the question is , how many of us self driven ,self appointed rally champions with rarely a railway station/airport pick up and drop of our parents need all that roominess and features etc etc which the Vista boasts of . So head would vouch for a Vista and heart would go for a Swift as styling does matter where, c’mon guys Swift is revolutionary and Vista , though a good looker looks evolutionary .
All said and done and the fact that my Dad owns a Swift diesel , i would still buy a Vista , not that my head rules the heart but ” Aakhir dil hai Hindustaani ” —Heart still Rules .

Took a test drive of the car today, and below is my 10 point observation and my 2 cents review.

1. Engine is very refined, better refinement than swift.
2. Acceleration is still very good. just like the other fiat common rail diesel engines in other cars.
3. Handles very well over rough roads, much better that what swift does. Infact you cannot compare both in this regard. indica is in a different zone here.
4. Space is very good comparable to getz.
5. AC is very good, chills within no time, and no distinguishable drop in pickup due to AC.
6. Steering is good, but can be changed a little for higher speeds. responds too much at higher speeds
7. Gear shift is good, but not upto the mark of swift or getz lacks something that is still needs, (infact feels like something is holding)
8. Interiors are good but still you feel it lacks something .
9. Driver seat height adjustment is a very good option.
10. Exterior Panel gaps are still not upto the swift/getz standards, there are some gaps to be seen which you don’t expect at this level.

Overall I would say it is huge improvement over the older version, but there are short commings which some people may just ignore. Ultimately its the buyers decision where they would like to compramise

For the information i own a Getz and use if for my daily commute, and i have been driving it for last 4 years. I have driven whole lot of cars (more than 100kms) which include , earlier indica, safari, indigo
fiat cars palio(not the multijet version), petra,
maruti 800, alto, wagonR, zen, new zen, esteem, baleno, swift both petrol and diesel
hyundai santro, i10, accent, elantra,
toyota innova, honda city, skoda octavia,
ford fikon, fiesta, fusion,etc

swift has been in the market for 3 or more years.during the days of debut,looked retro and alternatively styled, not upto the taste of few.but in these years with so many around, people have taken the odd looks as a style statement of itself.indica vista on the other hand has been designed, keeping in mind of the design cues of the past indica.tata has proved its confidence in there previous design by adopting it again.but, indica being used as cab and rented cars allaround.so it has lost its image to the midclass who tend to stand out with there strictly budjeted wish list of cars.tata has done great with the design, but the indica similar looks may hint a bit sour amoung all so sweet new design.so despite the price tag,( at least 20k less in vista) and the space and the goodies(vista is loaded to its gills against swift), the image conscious midclass would still prefer swift over vista.

» ajay said: { Sep 1, 2008 - 04:09:16 }

agreed that tata have done an amazing job to produce vista it could be comparable to swift for engine and may be handling also (which i seriously doubt) but cmon guys you cant compare them in styling, brand image, quality of material, service quality, cost of parts, maintainance cost (and the list could go loooong).

Tata stands at the bottom in JD Power customer satisfaction, Initial quality study and dependability study whre Swift is a winner.

Swift is not only about the Diesel engine, its a premium hatch with an attitude. the petrol car was also most happening and waiting brand when there was no diesel for maruti!

As far as vista is concerned i am sure even if its a cheaper option against swift it will still have a negative brand image, indica is still a taxi where swift is a premium hatch.

» abhishek said: { Sep 6, 2008 - 10:09:33 }

HI!

After 2 big acquisitions now TATA = Indian pride , Swift is still getting enough backup from maruti legacy but coming months we can see real competition in between both of them.
Sapce: Vista
pickup : Vista
look: swift still better
Suspension: almost equal
Services: equal
Price: not much to chose

As far as Vista export version it is much better and then Indian version. Sad Tata is not planning to launch that version in India.

What is the mileage of Indica Vista (Diesel)

» VR.Muthukaruppan said: { Sep 9, 2008 - 10:09:49 }

If its mileage it is swift it is proven :lol: I also have a palio multijet which gives me an avarage of 15kmpl(including highway and chennai city) with ac on all the time, i am sure swift would better this. GUYS vista at 5.41lacs is not worth it, never justifies its price, boot space is very poor, better go for swift or palio.

» Rajan said: { Sep 10, 2008 - 07:09:06 }

I’ve been driving Swift Zxi Petrol for three years now. I must say it is fun to be on Swift drivers seat. Vista might be a good car but i will not prefer it purely because of the TAXI image it carries. I hate to see myself in a Taxi car.
I somehow dont have good opinion on TATA, purely because of their quality. Sumo, Estate, Indica - none of these cars are known for quality and safety. I’ve seen many Indica with rear wheel inclined to an angle, not aligned. The plastics used is horrible, no sense of design when it comes to dashboard, the thud you get when you close the door reveals that its a metal junk. Horrible. Indica headlights dazzles and it is not safe for other drivers on the road. Engineers at TATA should learn something about designing a product that is safe to other vehilce on the roads.
Also Indica is the most expensive car to maintain in its segment. Swift cannot be compared to Indica in any way. Its miles ahead.

» rahulraja said: { Sep 11, 2008 - 04:09:23 }

(I TEST drove it) i was amazed with the features packed in indica vista…..lots of goodies for a reasonable price 5.43 on road CBE….the minus point is the gearbox rubbery…..a bit, needs effort. its nowhere near SUZUKIS gearbox, its a big plus for the swift…..i even heard from my elders…..that the steering wheel does not have the feel. but overall i am towards the vista…. i just love it….. MR. RATAN TATA, makes india proud….thank u for the gift{vista}sir……

After Tata unveiled Indica Vista, B Segment Diesel Hatchback group has got a very competitive entrant with lots of features to muscle with the international players. One of the main feature of the New Indica Vista is the new award winning lightweight Fiat diesel engine which is under the hood.
Indica Vista not only comes with new Fiat engine but also with Fiat’s gearbox making it a car which is delight to driver. New Indica also packs lots of luxury features which are going to be deal breaker and shall make some serious dent in Swift Diesel sales.
Lets look at the comparison of the New Tata Indica Vista (both variants) with the other players in the field namely Competent All Rounder Swift from Maruti, Very Powerful Getz Prime from Hyundai and Luxurious Fabia from Skoda.
First a look at Performance numbers

Maruti Swift and Indica Vista shares the second spot in performance as both these cars have similar/same engine. Fabia comes in last when it comes to performance inspite of its 1.4 lt displacement.

I have read almost all the comments……..
They enrich really valuable informations………
But I have seen some SWIFT FANS have written bad comments on Indica(mainly having the image of previous Indica). :sad:
I ask them they have tested the new Indica Vista at all !!!!!!!!!!!! :!:
It is a complete makeover from the previous. Even I think the new interior is way better than the Swift. The Swift exterior is great and a clear winner. But the Swift has gloomy plastic all around with a small rear window making the cabin dark especially for backseat passengers. In this case the TATA has done a brilliant job. Engines and gearbox also very good. The suspension is much better in Tata also.
I am also a Swift fan but The new Indica is not at all a CAB like looking car now.
The styling is just good with a brilliant headlamp and Ford Focus type of taillamp.
And it’s feeling great that our homebrand TATA is giving a good competetion to the Foreign brands………
Hats off Mr. Ratan Tata………
You are making us proud……….

Tata did something great. Vista looks not so bad. Its form is somewhere near to some other cars of Fiat or Opel. But a very good impression from Tata. But Swift from Suzuki is also not a good brand. Suzuki has its experience, but still internationally a cheap car company. Not a prestigious one. So Tata makes also new name now. Suzuki also is not a really original brand, as it is only a part of General Motors and WagonR is Agila of Opel in some countries and Chevrolet(Many models from old Daewoo), Opel and Suzuki are all GM cars. But the brand Suzuki may be the lowest among them. Tata is on the other hand started with cars so late and now already in international market must be respected. Vista is a step, just like Titan watches.

» Deepak said: { Nov 2, 2008 - 10:11:24 }

Ok guys.. lets get the basics right… If u are looking for Driving comfort, its the SWIFT but if u r looking at passenger comfort, its the Vista. The Power steering in the Swift is better than that in the Vista surely. The boot space in the Vista is more than the Swift marginally though. The Vista is more feature rich as compared to the Swift. The Swift is costlier than the Vista. A serious drawback, & sad by Maruti standards, is the lack of rear defogger and wiper in the Swift which is there in the Vista. The Swift wud give a slightly better mileage than the Vista - one coz its lighter & two the engine is not tweaked like in the case of the Quadrajet. Also the gear shift in the case of Swift is better becoz of the Drive chain unlkike in the Vista. If only the service is proved by Tata, the Vista Quadrajet wud be a clean winner overall. I wud rate the Vista 8.50 on a rating scale of 10 as against 8 on ten for the Swift.

» Deepak A said: { Nov 24, 2008 - 09:11:55 }

Go for the Swift if Mileage is very important. It will give you about 14-15 kms per litre in City as against the Vista which will you marginally lesser at 13-14 kms per litre. Here again it all depends on the driving skills more than anything else. Hard Braking, unnecessary revving, engine idling for long at signals or traffic jams can ruin the mileage. So if you are a sensible driver, you could end easily up with about 16kms per litre on either car. :lol:
In terms of sturdiness, the Vista is better than the Swift. :eek:
In terms of Price the Quadrajet top end variant is cheaper than the top end Swift diesel by about 30,000/-. :razz:
In terms of features , the Vista tope end Quadrajet scores heavily against the Swift top end diesel. :smile:
In terms of service, I would think Maruti will score over Tata’s but that gap is fast narrowing. :wink:
In terms of smooth handling, the Swift scores above the Vista :smile:
I would suggest you go for the Vista top end Quadrajet AURA :lol:

sorry to interupt u guys with palio here dont u guys think palio at 5.6lacs is better than vista :lol: think about it. road grip above 120kmph is as good as a saloon except for bodyroll(better than swift and vista), passenger comfort is better than vista or swift, pickup is equally good,ride quality is the best which is better than most of the bigger cars and u have service back by tata.the only let down is outdated interiors, but dont mind because u get a complete package at 5.6lacs including rear wiper and defogger.as far as mileage is concerned i get 19kmpl in highway and 14kmpl in city which pretty good, so guys make a wise decision.dont mind about resale value because ur life is important than ur car’s resale value, palio is a veryyyyyyyyyy safe car.

i would also say palio is a very safe car when compared to swift and vista, u will also feel very safe when driving a palio in highway.one important thing, i was driving palio in flooded streets of chennai and never found water entering the car even when half of the car was submerged in to waters also saw a copule of car’s interiors damaged on the way. i also have a swift vdi so i really know and can assure u that multijet is the best of all three.

I think certainly indica vista is better than swift in style,space and pick up.Tata has done a realy good job.We cannot ignore the looks of yhe new indica.It gives us what is above its class.Right from the front the vista is special in its looks.Moreover vista offers much more than a hatchback like swift.The interior space is remarkable.

» Sridhar said: { Jan 6, 2009 - 02:01:12 }

Iam a swift LDi owner.. The brakes of Swift diesel is pretty good. Its good enough to stop the vehicle from such highspeeds gained in no time(12 secs for 100kmph)..
How abt the brakes of indica vista.. ?? Is it same as regular indica or an improved version.. If they are regular brakes of indica then better have a test drive..

Do the doors have to be banged to be closed.. This does not happed in hyundai and maruthi cars.. This is something irritating if its same as older indica..

What about change of oil and air filters.. swift diesel needs a change at every 20000km.. what abt indica ?

Service of TATA cars are poor.. not to do with TATA but with their system. They have a mindset of servicing taxi people where nothing much needs to be done..

If u want Vista wait to find out potential problem getting rectified and then go for the updated version ..

” Looks dont matter much as long as the substance seems reliable.. ”

Wait for Sandero(on the base of Logan).. looks good compared to logan..

Enjoy..

yes, i accept swift has good service cback up, image everything.. But what when it comes in terms of space?? Or space is not important?? If any of these swift owners if once travelled on its back seat will curse their decision.. Its such a crap.. with no space for legs… no space for shoulder.. no space for head… I feels sympathy if i see someone looking out throug swifts back window. :) It looks like some one looking out of a cell…But any way it looks stunning on exterior…
Maruti is always like that…They makes puny cars(not sx4)… why cant thy make bigger cars??

Hi, a lots of comments on vista (quadrajet) and swift, in my openion it is quite sure that indica vista and swift both are equally good cars.. one month back I was planning to buy a premium hatch and considering vista vs. swift…. and decided to go for vista. Now you’l ask why? actually diffrent people has different needs, and I was more comfortable with vista. a. Body shape of Swift vs. Vista??? I feel that if you have to drive in city more than hiways, vista’s judgement in traffic where you are driving with rickshaw, auto, cycle and scooters is batter because of sleek shape. b. on highways ride quality and control over speeds of vista is better than swift. c. Maintenance of TATA products are cheaper and availablity of spares is not a problem. consumable parts are cheaper by 40% as compare to swifts ie. diesel filters and air filters etc. d. Image of swift is no doubt is better than the tata’s but now tata has changed his image globally after the launch of vista / nano and aquiring Jaguar/Land rover. Again I would like to say that tata has grown up in cars and image as a company no body can doubt about. e. This car is havier than swift by 107 KGs and thats why it is stable and drive feel is robust. f. Quality?.. as I kept Indigo LX earlier it is far better than the earlier tata cars. g. Features?.. I had have a comparision with Swift VDI vs. Vista Aqua Quadra…..first of all it is clear that tata is very serious to provide more features at a resonable price like in Aqua(it is a middle level version) and cheper of about 60000/- than swift VDi and it is valuable price difference between both so any one can consider while spending. Vista has Defogger/ Stering hight adjustment / Deep Glove box even can keep laptop in it / Space well Managed like Utility tray under passanger seat/ Central locking with immobiliser as a standard and important things.
I think these studies in my openion can help any body to choose between both.

Hi,
this is a good question, that what is the life of a quadrajet engine? do you know that the engine life of a car matter several things like how and where are you driving your car. If you are using your car more in city and less on highways the engine life will be less as compare to, if you use your car on highway more. I think that in general condition normaly we use to and also the engine of vista and swift is a better and refind than Tdi.. it will be give at least 1,50,000 mileage but there is a condition that you have to service your car regularly. For knowledge sake I would like to share one thing about the engine life. My brother is using Accord in New zealand and the milage on dash is 275000+ Kms. and i was surprised to know that car is running absolutely fine without any major repair.. this is due to the conditions of the driving out there and the regular maintainence. When the car is getting older the other parts like rubber parts / suspention / plastic parts also wearout due to climate/fatigue etc. that also affect that engine life.

Vista qudrajet is definitely a better package on all major parameters i dont understand this hype about swifts looks its no sporty its plain ugly i cannot convince myself about its looks ,mileage could be an issue with the vista but looks :it surely looks like a decent car about performance the performance which mostly matters is about city driving

i dont care what people say,i bet on the new outstanding INDICA VISTA QUADRAJET AURA because it delivers the same power of a petrol car and the suspension is awesome.the best thing about the vista is its interior,the central console is 100% better than the swift and the speedometer is very costly and good looking.the stylish headlamps are also a good factor of the vista and the only thing i have to say is plastic quality can be improved.

Hi Guys,
I am new to the forum but I have driven swift vdi for 75000Kms. And I have felt the pinch of quality I have been given by Maruti. Since the first day my engine sounded like a tractor between 1300 and 2000RPM and it still does the same after spending weeks in workshops and Maruti factory. I actually found that repeated fiddling with the car to understand (not resolve) the problem actually created more problems. Quality: - I have had two faulty radaitor fans costing some Rs 6500/- each, I have had leaking injectors as they are just pushed down to fix them, Replaced working battery costing Rs.5500/- just because on ignition the voltage dropped and engine sensors started misbehaving (All other cars I have never replaced batteries before 3 years & my Innova battera actullay costed me much cheaper), The oil and fuel filters in VDi cost almost 6 to 8 times than normal engines. Every time you hit a pothole the car sounds like a loose metal junk (after replacing the struts). And guys if are stuck up with a fuse blown, I assure you that you will never find the fuse box. And if you find it, to access it you would require to remove the battery and the air filter box (for which you will not have the tools). The doors (metal) starts squeaking after a few thousand kms. And please sit in the rear seat once to feel the comfort and the leg space…..??????.

I thank all you guys for your reviews, finally I have decided to buy Indica vista qudrajet aura, that too sporty looking gala red color. Be indian buy indian. This model is spacious and sitting inside is as if sitting inside a suv. vertical adjustment of the seat enables a better view of the road. sitting inside the swift or swift is as if sitting inside a basement of a building.

Hi
Bought vista quadrajet. I think the its the best car i have driven. The engine is perfect. Although its still in running in period i can feel the power beneath. Its super silent inside. The lighting, sterio, seats, beige interiors gives a gr8 feel inside. Height adjuster and tilt steering makes the steering like a joystick. And about the looks, except from the back where it carries a resemblance from old indica, its superb.Gr8 suspension 2. Dont know about swift. But i had been to my friends car. The interior is crap and absolutely no room in back. Vista is heaven

Indica vista is an amazing car. swift diesel cant come any where near it. equipped with the same engine as swift diesel that comes from fiat; this common rail engine (a 32bit microprocessor controlled) has a turbocharger as well, equipped with 16vales and a double overhead cam shaft. Engine remaining the same the indica vista fares ahead in terms of value for money, luxury, comfort, utility, space, convenience and service. tata offers tilt adj steering, height adj seat, lumbar support (adjustable), integrated stereo ( Clarion) with 4 X 50W speakers And 2 X 3cm tweeters, usb support, aux jack, etc. 60:40 split double folding seat, two tone beige interiors, more space that swift, two power sockets rear and front fog lamps along with many more features as compared to swift which has just basic features available for the same price.

True, Ansha. Vista is the Best ever car an Indian road has seen. Looks, features, safety, comfort, Value for Money, an All in One. It has all the ingredients to topple Swift from being Numero Uno. But we people love to dream in Utopia. Hence we do not come out of the Swift intoxication. And those who criticize Vista, say Vista is not a good car because it is made by Tata and Tatas can’t make good cars. What rubbish! I reiterate, Vista is the Best ever car an Indian road has seen.

Great Interior with dual shade dashboard, Great legroom (both front and Rear seats), Height adjusted Driver Seat gives a good lower view for the short drivers,smooth and silent engine which confused me to turn on when it’s already on. Iam working in Malaysia for the past 15 years.Tata’s international reputation in Cars(Telco 4 x 4 Double Door Pick ups) does’nt hold the mark when compared to their Buses and Trucks which has ver good reputation in S.E.Asian Countries. I had a negative opinion espiacially on Tata’s cars when I came to India this year. But really astonished after a test drive of Vista Qua. It’s an excellent car with all amenities at a superb price. For those who want to know the negatives of this car, I have only 2 things 1) Small boot space 2) Plastic Quality. I have’nt driven Swift, but travelled once by sitting on the rear Seat with my Wife and Kid. It was so cramped .I thought that was due to our oversized bodies.(Iam 95Kgs and my wife is 80kgs). We tried the same in Vista with my kid. That was really great. So much impressed. Iam going to buy Vista by next week.

I was using Indica 2000 petrol version. I used it for 10 years & just sold it recently. It was giving a great mileage of around 12 to 13 kms with AC on. I did not had any major maintainence on it so far & the second car I bought now is Indica Vista Quadrajet engine. It’s great performance. It has so many features with the low price. It has a very low running cost & gives a great mileage of around 16 to 17 kms in city driving & 20+ on highways. It comes with a 2+1 year warranty, which means company is quite condident about the performance. It has the same engine which swift, fiat, & some companies using. I would surely recommend to go for it, those who are thinking of buying it.

In the coming days, petrol is going to cost more & Indian Govt. is also considering to put a excise hike on diesel vehicles, so Indica Vista is a great buy. Thanks

Last year I Bought a Indica vista quadrajet after test driving both tata vista and Maruti swift. The space inside the vista, the superb suspension and the features i was getting for the money I’m paying where the main points for my decision. No doubt that both these cars having the same fiat engine under the hood are great to drive. The swift is a bit quicker than the vista as the engine is tuned so, but once your in the top gear both the cars are the same. Vista on the other end does very well at lower rpm than swift. Though the vista has a good gearbox, the gear shift from 2nd to 3rd is a bit long and i would still prefer the swift gearbox as it is more comfortable. People still prefer a maruti suzuki parked in there garage than a tata vista because of the brand name, but that isn’t important to me. The swift look so wide outside but inside the rear seat is cramped. Whereas vista gives to plenty of space and legroom which makes it an ideal car for longer drives. The interiors in vista are much better than the old indica but the plastic used is not that good. Believe me the service and spares are cheaper than the maruti swift which is interesting. No doubt that both these cars are good buys, but a sensible buy would be vista for those who are not interested in things like brand name and fast pickup which is of no use on the Indian roads. This review is for the tata indica vista quadrajet and not for the tata indica tdi nor the safire. My vote for TATA INDICA VISTA QUADRAJET.
