Fernando Alonso has an agreement to switch to Ferrari according to Italy’s La Gazzetta Dello Sport reports. The double world champion may shift to Ferrari as early as 2010 as a replacement for Kimi who performed rather dissapointingly during the last season, the newspaper said.

The double world champion currently drives for Renault and the contract runs for two more years.

The newspaper also said that the agreement with the 27 year old Alonso is ‘quite’ open with numerous two-sided exit clauses but if fully excercised, could see the driver race for Ferrari until the end of the season 2014.

A Ferrari spokesman declined to comment on the same but said “We can only repeat that we have two drivers signed to the end of 2010.”
