The Front:

Update1:
Caught the bike in traffic today. See the picture above, its clear that its a fully faired bike, I saw dual headlamps in front and also a disc brake at the back. I just couldnt keep up with with it neither did a P200 guy who was racing with him! It was all black with greyish exhaust. More when we see the bike in the upcoming Auto Expo.
I spoke to a Yamaha spokesman, who on the condition of anoymity told that the specifications floating around on the internet are almost true.
We are in for some exciting times ahead. Go Yamaha Go!
The Pulsar’s and RTR’s of this world have been warned, already.
Confirmed Specifications:
-Fully Faired
- Rear Disc Brake
- 150cc
Update 2: This has been confirmed.
- Liquid Cooling
- Fuel Injection
- Delta Box Frame
Now time for some pictures of this much awaited yamaha bike…

This is bullshit the pic is of Yamaha R125
Kedar,
Thanks for writing in.
We never said ‘this’ is the bike which is going to be launched. Since the rumour says its going to be a 150cc fully faired bike, with fuel injection, 4 valve head and liquid cooling, it ‘may’ look like this.
P.S. We would appreciate if you can mellow down with your comments in future. Shouting or using harsh words is something we dont like and dont approve of.

dude … this bike is a TVS flame .. u can make it out with the design of the exhaust pipe and the split grab rail .. furthermore wht gies u an impression of a fairing is the wheel of th Omni (Van) ….thts it …
but i hopw yamaha comes up wid sumthin tht rocks the market ..
just a question to all you bike lovers …
would u buy the YZF R125 ..coz i live in germany ..and here its priced 3400 € thts around Rs.165,000????? well considering taxes in germany are really high …
Jatin,
When I said I saw the bike and tried to catch up, it means that I have seen all of it. Yes I wasnt able to take a proper picture but this image does confirm a few things.
The bike is a yamaha. As I have written, the bike had a rear disc brake and if you notice closely, the front indicator is at the knee level since it is mounted on the front fairing.
Lastly, I had a word with Yamaha official too and he confirmed the specs, I am not putting them up here, which I will do only when I see it in the Auto Expo.
Thanks for visiting our blog.
These pics and your observation do seem to make all the news that has been coming in somewhat true!!!. I juts hope that the stats and the price (around 80-90k) remain same and am sur ethis bike is gonna blow off every bike(p220 included) with its design and performance!!! Just one day to go to the auto expo and i am damn excited………
PS: And yes..i talked to one of Yamaha’s official and he has told me to wait and that this they(yamaha) wont dissapoint us)
Nice to see Indian bike makers wake up and smell the performance coffee….
For 22bhp, fullfairing ,EFI, rear disc and 4 valves qith liquid cooling 80K or even 90K sounds quite reasonable.
What remains to be seen is whether it has a wide enough powerband or will be a narrow, peaky little cracker . The Karizma and P220 have fairly broad torque , I doubt this 150 will be able to match that.
And reliability/durability ….as yet unproven.
Crash repair bills though - that’s gonna be a nightmare.
Revhard,
Thanks for writing in.
I am not expecting it to be a 22bhp bike, but somewhere around 18 bhp would be more like it. Add to it a deltabox frame since the bike is fully faired and the recipe seems complete.
Well all these are mere speculations right now, we will get you the full details once the Auto Expo starts.

The specs luks promising enuff…
No Doubt, It ll b a good change over for Yamaha-INDIA’s current image….
B/w
No offenses, coz ITS JUST MY PERCEPTION…
But can we have a little peek at the delta exhaust of the bike shown in the above two pics which clearly signifies that its a TVS flame…
And as the parallax error creep in, your doubt about the front indicators shud get cleared…Coz its something in front of omni…
Anyways, am hoping for a clearer picture in the 9th AUTO-EXPO….coz i ll be there…
BUT I HAVE GOT TO COMMEND YOU FOR THE SPECS, they certainly look PROMISING as i said before…
Happy Riding
Hi Sandzz

Please bear with us till Auto Expo begins and we will give you all the pics and specification.

that by no means is a flame….even a toddler who loves bikes can tell the difference ….look at the riding position and the bike sits a bit flatter like it has some bulk….
I think there is no need for the misleading pic of R125 now.
Great pics later on.
Waiting for further updates.
hey admin. dude …. i didn’t mean it harsh man .. but i had this gut feelin tht this ws another tvs flame coz it has the kind of the same exhaust .n stuff ..
but, dude the front end pic of the bike is too small…. just wanted to knw frm u is it sumthin tht could blow u away??????
i hope so ..man sittin in germany m too exited abt this new r15 frm yamaha ..
and yeah your blog rocks !!!!!!
Jatin,
If we go by specifications of the bike this surely is revolutionary, afterall its not everyday you get a 150cc bike with FI, Liquid cooling and a 4 valve head. We are also told that this bike sports a delta box frame, in which case this bike truly revolutionary and I can assure you without even test riding this bike that this will outhandle every bike in the country Karizma and Pulsar 220 included.
Get ready for a creamy revvy Yamaha engine and a bike which will lean to crazy angles in a blink of an eye.
We didnt took it harsh, even a bit.

Kedar,

Promising!!!
I am not able to believe that they can get it from 150cc engine. If the performance figures are true, it should be atleast 165-180cc(for 20-22bhp) engine
great work man!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yamaha rocks!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi,
That thing around knee is no way a part of Omni. Do check the 2nd pic from the Auto Expo display where the indicator’s positioning is clearly visible. Am game for this baby. Am waiting
This ones gonna make other bike makers eat dirt. Been waiting for this move from Yamaha.
Yamaha - Touchin Your Heart - It sure does waht say guys?

Jatin,
We have confirmed the specifications. High resolution images coming tomorrow.

Now the biggest challenge facing Yamaha will be to make enough bikes to meet the huge demand… I can already imagine seeing hundreds of these bikes everyday on the streets…..waiting periods of over a month for the bike.
So where can I book one?!
I can smell the revolution in the air!
hey dude …any idea abt the lauch date for this ‘Beast with Beauty’……?????
jatin - I read somewhere (i think http://www.xbhp.com) that the Press release is going to be today (10th Jan) with the official launch slated for April or May.
Lets just wait and watch. Just a few more hours to go and we should have concrete details along with hi-res pics
This is awesome stuff. Yamaha has hit the nail in the head with this bike!!!!!

I read in the business pages of today’s(6-3-20080The Hindu newspaper that Yamaha is replacing its existing venture in India with a joint venture with Mitsui Corporation. There were no other details. Is it possible for anyone to secure the details. Just curious about what Yamaha plans to do in India along with Mitsui. Thanks.
is this yzf r15 will be sell in the Philippines? tnx..
Mark,
We have no information if this would be launched in Indonesia or not. We will update the site if we come across any news on this.
Keep Visiting.

Indian people are lucky to touch the power of yamaha, we are waiting for a long time for a powerfull bike from the king Yamaha.
get more pics on Yzfr15.blogspot.com
i think, between YZF 125, YZF R15 n Vixion…have many similar parts, especially in engine sector…
here in Indonesia, vixion is the first motorcycle using 3CI engine… if YZF 125 n YZF R15 have the same engine kode, so that rumors i hear in Indonesia is true…YZF 125 n YZF R15 n Vixion born from same design…
I own the bike, and am 17 years old
Bought it with my own money of course..
The bike is frikkin amazing! It has a VERY fast pickup.. I can cross roads with less than a fraction of second to spare as the vehicles from both sides pour in!
It has a superior yet elegant design, that caught the eyes of everyone the bike had gone through.. I get poured with questions from the spectators as the bike glimmers through the street at amazing speed.!
The best part is that it does the “wheelie” without any effort haha, well it actually lifted the front wheel itself when i gave it enough gas from start..
My best was 0-60 in 4 seconds, though the bike promises to give it in 3!
1.1 lac best spent
I am happy.
