SINGUR ISSUE: TATA MOTORS ‘DISTRESSED’ AT LIMITED CLARITY

The Singur issuse just doesnt seems to be nearing an end. Tata Motors have officially stated that they are distressed at the limited clarity on the outcome of the discussions b/w the Govt. and the agitators and are obliged to suspend construction and commisioning work at the Nano plant.

“Tata Motors Ltd. is distressed at the limited clarity on the outcome of the discussions between the State Government of West Bengal and the representatives of the agitators in Singur. In view of the same, Tata Motors is obliged to continue the suspension of construction and commissioning work at the Nano Plant.
 
We will review our stated position only if we are satisfied that the viability of the project is not being impinged, the integral nature of the mother plant and our ancillary units are being maintained and all stakeholders are committed to develop a long term congenial environment for smooth operations of the plant in Singur. “

I read on another website that this is win-win situation for the TATAs, Ms Mamta Banerjee, for the CPM and the people of Bengal. I am not one to believe the management jargon. If someone wins then someone also loses. Every victory is that in relation to a loss. I think the TATAs will see themselves as the losers here.

the losing political ground by ms. mamta has been well covered up. her histrionics & ‘uneducated’ guesses, thrashing out comments aimlessly has only left the Singur’s hope high & dry. the people there are not realising the mamta’s political gains & their losses. the tata’s should be bold & sure about their future course. let their be another site…
