Smooth Operator: Honda Accord 3.5 V6 Coming In March!
Petrol heads rejoice! The top-of-the-line Honda Accord with the 3.5 Litre V6 engine is on its way to India and will be launched in the last week of March this year. The V6 Accord also has the distinction of having of the biggest and one of the most powerful engine on a front wheel drive car.
The full blown i-VTEC motor develops a very healthy 270 bhp which will be detuned for the Indian fuel to around 250 bhp which is still more than enough for some stonking performance numbers. Its not clear whether the engine will feature the Variable Cylinder Management technology(VCM) or not which switches off 2 or even 3 cylinders on the V6 motor under part throttle or consistent cruise mode to save on fuel, in which case the ‘ECO’ lights up on the instrument panel.

Dissapointingly though there will be no manual option (why Honda!) as the engine will be mated to a 5-Speed Automatic Transmission. The V6 model will also feature 17 inch wheels and thicker anti-roll bars to rein in all the extra power.
The V6 version will cost around 1.5 Lakhs more than the 4 Cylinder variant.

Seems like a potent machine, but I will still pick the vRS over this. Turbo rules.
A V6 engine in India could be overkill. But then it is not like tens of thousands of people are going to buy it. It will be just a lucky few.
I have used the earlier honda accord v6. it is a super cool machine. this one will kick some serious ass. and i think its way better than the octy vrs as this is just not abt speed n performance but also abt luxury unmatched at this price. n accord ride quality on india roads is way better than any skoda. n this new one is way better. power+performance+luxury+cushy ride= amazing value for money!! i think this one will be a better option than skoda laura vrs also if thats launched. no doubt that engine wise laura vrs will be superior but this one will be better overall. more leg space at rear also. super comfy seats too. i thinks its going to be a sweet deal as it will be the best value for money performance luxury sedan n the best car this side of the merc E class!
