STOP PRESS: FIAT LINEA COMING VERY SOON!
In this season of new launches, kicked off by Tata Indica Vista, the most awaited launch from the Fiat India stable, the Fiat Linea Saloon, is coming very soon. The car will launched sometime next month and will be in the showrooms shortly. The car is expected to provide class leading space and ride & handling of a very high order. The looks are a strong point too with ‘maserati’ inspired front end.
There are still no details on the engine or pricing front but an uprated VGT version of the 1.3 mulitjet with 90 bhp on tap is confirmed. The car will come with some feature unseen in its segment and will be priced very competitively.

Heard this one’s gone be delayed due to many other launches in september.
I was eagerly waiting for this one, Is it true?
There is no doubt that Fiat makes some not only great looking cars but also well engineered ones as well. It is a pity that in India it all went wrong for them. One sincerely hopes that Fiat will be able to make substantial inroads into the Indian market and hopefully the Linea will set this process rolling. All the best to them.
Fiat should focus on strengthening their after sales network.. They can reduce the money spent on advertisements and celibrity endorsements. That money can be utilised in strengthening their after sales network.
Remember the Palio was endorsed by Sachin Tendulkar, still it didn’t sell well.. People are not fools to spend lacs by looking at some cricketer/filmactor
for a big car of this size, I guess 1.3 motor would be very small and the car could be sluggish and could spell disastar for Fiat again…
Linea will be launched in Delhi on 4th sept . its nice car available in 1.3 jtd 90 hp engine .
Fiat is ;ike another ‘maruti’ in Europe. But in India it has suffered repeated failures in terms of sales take-off. It all started with the Fiat uno which stumbled upon some union issues and failed to deliver. booking amounts were returned and that, sadly, was the demise of this brand image in india. till today the market presence is scarce & scary for the owners. TATA selling the polios alongwith indica. what days for fiat man?!!!!
I am waiting for this car eagerly. If FIAT provides a decent after sales service, mostly I will go for this car instead of verna / fiesta.
