SUZUKI LANZA 150CC COMING SOON!

Better late than never, Suzuki will finally launch its competitor in the 150cc segment named the Lanza. Being the last mover in this segment the company already has formidable competition waiting in the form of Bajaj’s Pulsar, TVS Apache RTR, Hero Honda Extreme and Hunk and the Honda Unicorn already settled and well accepted in the market.

Suzuki is following the age old commuter 150cc mantra unlike Yamaha which is now singing a different tune altogether compared to every other 2 wheeler maker in the Indian market, but it trumps the other 150cc by making use of a six-speed gearbox. The extra cog should give it better cruising abilities than any other 150cc in the market (Yamaha YZF R15 not included offcourse as it is in a different league all together) and better fuel efficiency owing to a more relaxed engine at higher speeds on the highway.

The rest of it is all the same and the styling is a mix and match of all the other bikes already available in the market which isnt really a bad thing afterall. The tanks is an oversized hybrid of Pulsar and Apache and the same goes for the headlight and the bikini fairing upfront which looks exactly the same as Pulsar viewed side on. The fuel cock and the middle side panels seem to have taken their inspiration from thr Honda Unicorn while the side panels looks like they have straight come from the Hunk! The crankcase and the alloys have been blacked out, a design language made popular by the Pulsar 180 cc black. Suzuki has taken the mix n match approach to a new level with the Lanza!

The bike also comes with usual 150cc bit and pieces like alloy wheels, digital instrument console, gas filled rear shock absorbers, LED tail lamps, handle bar weight, alloy handle bar clamp, box section swing arm and alloy subframes.

I am sure the product brief given to the Suzuki Engineers was to take bits from every other 150cc bike available in the market and then trump them all with a six-speed transmission and smooth engine and gearbox tranny which we come to take for granted from Suzuki.

Lanza is a much more thorough effort from Suzuki after the forgettables like the Zeus and Heat and I really have a feeling that this is the bike that will bring the much needed volumes for Suzuki IF they price it correctly. The battlelines have been drawn again and it will be interesting to see the response from other manufacturers. Fence sitting was never so much fun!

Lanza is a peculiar name. I am not sure it will tempt buyers. By the way Star is a TVS brand and not Suzuki’s. I suppose it was meant to be Heat. Anyway all the best to Suzuki with their new product.

This bike looks good, but when will Suzuki get the 600 Gixxer?

@Motor…. There is no point in bringing the 600 if you are getting it the CBU way, which I am sure Suzuki will. Bikes over 800cc dont need to go through the expensive homologation process and the turn around time will be lesser too, so it will be 1000 before the 600 for sure.

 hi ! I think the bike has the ability to get sales but I think if it had a mono shock , then it would be fabulous . Great value for money . Tell them to learn something from honda and yamaha with products like unicorn and fz150. Tell them that there are more boys than uncles in India who like bikes . If there was a mono shock then it would be what you say *sone pe suhaga* .

Suzuki products are really value for money. I am sure the Lanza (named after the famous Tenor ? Mario Lanza ?) will also continue in the grand tradition of giving customers “much more” than they pay for. This is something which only the owners discover with the passing of time. People have loved the Pulsar, not for its quality, but for its looks. Well …. folks, looks like your prayers have been answered this time. Now you can have the looks and the quality in one very attractive package. Check it out !

I am not really a huge fan of bikes but if I had to have one given to me I would take it as they a lot cheaper to have than a car.

 I thin the is more over cloned as some one has imagination this is a fake photo i can see, in any other overdrive like magazines it is mentioned that muscular fuel tank, monoshok, 6-speed, and 16BHP we can imagine how beautiful it would be.
The photo framed on top is a clone not more than that. Thanks for those who made this awkward photo for publishing.

The launce might be delayed and it may take another two months. The delay is because of its scooter access which is currently in high demand and they have even stopped the booking as of now. :!:
