SWIFT - FASTEST SELLING CAR MODEL IN INDIA
Maruti Suzuki super success ” Swift ” has reached another milestone by becoming one of the fastest selling models in India. The Country’s largest car maker has sold 2 Lakh Units of the Car since its launch 3 years ago on 25 May 2005.
“Maruti Swift has attained new benchmarks very swiftly. It has emerged as the fastest selling car in India by completing the two-lakh units sales mark in less than 36 months,” a company official said. “The popularity of petrol version inspired the company to launch a diesel variant in January 2007, powered by much acclaimed and the most compact diesel engine in its category,” he said.
At present, 60% of ‘Swift’ produced, are in diesel variant. The Car is priced in the range of 4 Lakh to 5.17 Lakh.

Somehow I am not surprised. Apart from the fact that the car is good and that it is a Maruti product, auto journalists have been recommnding this car to those who have not even been considering it. Letter asking for suggestion which say ” I have chosen to buy either a Verna or a Logan and which of these is better” get answers that say “we suggest you go for the Swift”.
