TATA MOTORS LAUNCH THE INDICA V2 XETA LPG

Tata has launched another bi-fuel version of its popular ubiquitious hatchback, Indica Xeta V2 LPG. The Indica Xeta is equipped with a dual fuel (petrol + lpg) engine which reduces CO2 emissions by about 10% percent while delivering excellent fuel efficiency within the city as well as on highways. Tata Indica Xeta has sold reasonably after they launched it with the fuel efficient 1.2 litre engine with the option of fitting CNG kit at the dealer without loosing warranty.

The new Xeta LPG comes with a sophisticated multipoint fuel injection system with two electronic control units in master-slave configuration for the dual fuel option. The engine make a maximum power of 65.3 PS @ 5000 rpm while running on petrol and an impressive 62 PS @5000 rpm when running on LPG. The peak torque is an equally healthy 102 Nm @ 2600 rpm, which helps immensly in city driving conditions. The engine already meets the Bharat III emission norms and can also be tweaked to meet the tough Euro IV norms.

The new Xeta dual-fuel LPG ensures a smooth transition between the two fuel modes, even on the move. The electronically controlled gas MPFI sequential injection system provides significant safety, performance and emission related advantages over competitive offerings.

The Xeta LPG will initially be launched in two variants — GLE and GLS. The Xeta LPG GLE variant (which comes with AC) is priced at Rs. 3.27 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), while the Xeta LPG GLS variant (which comes with AC, power steering, and body colored bumpers) is priced at Rs. 3.42 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The Xeta LPG variants will be available in a range of five attractive color options, at select showrooms across the country.

The LPG kit seems to be pretty sophisticated in Indica’s case compared to WagonR duo. Will be interesting to see the market response to this.

2 late i think..nw dt d new indica is coming…i think so tata r launching 2 much new products at d same tym rther dan concentrating in improving d quality of deir eisting products :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock:

I think this is good move to keep the Indica going even after the launch of the new Indica. TATA is covering various market segments with different variants. It is not a cost intensive exercise and can only benefit the company.
