TATA NANO DIESEL TO BE OUT BY SEPTEMBER 2009?

According to uncofirmed news via industry sources, the diesel version of the Tata Nano will be out in the Indian market by September 2009.

Contrary to earlier reports which suggested a diesel engine of 800cc under development by FEV, Germany, the source from the Industry claims an engine capacity of 690cc slightly larger than petrol’s 623cc.

Whatever the case may be, the engine in the Nano will be the smallest Common Rail Turbocharged diesel engine in the world and is expected to deliver stering fuel economy figures. Just like you we are waiting for an official announcement from the company too.

The way things are at Singur, it will probably be September, 2009 for Job 1 Nano to roll out. By then several other companies could borrow design cues and launch their products before TATA. Then the Nano could look like a copy of some other car while in effect it will be a copy of itself.

practicality of the nano is definitely stirred the daily commuters fancies. Honestly, the diesel engine seems to be little overboard as far the nano’s chassis is concerned. tata till date is known for its india specific price. but have we still witnessed anything class leading from the steel maker? Not yet.

There was a news that the diesel of version on Nano will hit the indian roads by 2009 but now the recent update is that the diesel variant would be delayed. The Nano which was supposed to be launched in October 2008, has been postponed to and the further launch date is not fixed yet.
