Tata Motor’s commercial vehicle division is all set to launch the ‘world truck’ in June this year. The new trucks will be launched simultaneously in India and South Korea and will take the competition from Mercedes Benz, Volvo, Scenia and Man.

The truck will be manufactured in both Euro IV and Euro III compliant versions. The customers abroad will have the option of buying the Euro IV compliant version while domestic customers in India will have the option of buying the Euro III or even Euro IV version for the forward thinking consumers. The world trucks will be fitted with engines,  with power ranging from 200-500 hp’s and will replace the current 100-1180 bhp trucks. The axles will come from Meritor Heavy Vehicle Systems of US which has a joint venture with Kalyani group in India. The gearbox might be a Tata or will come from Eaton of Poland.

The launch will be followed by other new variants in both passenger and commercial vehicles.
