There’s frantic activity going on at Toyota India. Relegated to the back foot by Honda’s Civic and Accord and slowing sales of its bread and butter Innova the company is readying to launch a fresh salvo in the Indian market. The company will launch the all new next generation Corolla in the India market in the second week of August as against reports which suggested the end of this year launch. Also coming is the facelifted Innova before the end of this year.

The current Innova was launched in India in 2005 and its one of our favourite vehicle in India. Pratical, refined and ultra reliable this is one of the most pratical buys in the Indian market and they are everywhere which is precisely the reason why they are begining to look a bit dated now. Toyota hasn’t bothered to freshen up the looks in the last 3 years but better late than never. There are no major changes though. The front bumper and grille and rear bumpers are re-profiled for a more streamlined look. The headlamps upfront are now clear lens and tail lamps will get the same treatment as well. The top-end versions will also get climate control, new alloys which look a lot better than the prsent one’s and parking sensors, a neccesity all-along considering the size of the vehicle
