Toyota Launches Fortuner
Toyota has launched the much awaited Fortuner SUV in the Indian market today. Priced at Rs 18.45 Lakhs the new Toyota will take the battle to Honda’s CRV, Ford’s Endeavour and the Chevrolet Captiva.

The Fortuner comes with a 3.0 Litre D4-D engine which develops a very healthy 171 PS and an impressive 343 Nm of torque. To put it into perspective, the engine is the most powerful unit in its class and being a Toyota it will in all probability be bullet proof! The engine is mated to a 5 speed manual or an automatic transmission and runs on an all time 4 wheel drive. Toyota has only launched the manual transmission version, the automatic will follow later in the year.

Color options for the Fortuner include super white, silver mica metallic, grey mica metallic, black mica and light blue metallic.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. (TKM) today announced the launch of the Toyota FORTUNER, in India.
The internationally acclaimed FORTUNER, which offers an unmatched combination of power and luxury supported by cutting-edge technology, was unveiled in New Delhi today by Mr. Akira Okabe (Senior Managing Director, TMC), Mr. Vikram Kirloskar (Vice-Chairman, TKM), Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa (MD, TKM), Mr. Kaoru Hosokawa (Chief Engineer, TMC) and Mr. Sandeep Singh (DMD, Marketing, TKM).
Available with 5 speed manual transmission, the FORTUNER not only offers unshakeable sturdiness with high ground clearance, long wheelbase, full-time 4WD and excellent drivability on all terrains, but is also loaded with comfort features like Climate Control AC, Optitron meter, Multi-information display, steering control switches, Space-up type 3rd row seats and leather interiors.
The exquisite bodyline and sporty exteriors of FORTUNER are further accentuated by attractive roof rails, rear spoiler, side steps & bonnet scoop. The spacious and comfortable interiors give FORTUNER an unparalleled edge over other SUVs in its segment.

The FORTUNER will be assembled in India at TKM’s plant in Bidadi.

second surprise tis year after superb,as far as price and standard equipment are concerned.and probably te 1st VFM japanese machine in te country too.te only edge tat captiva ever had over crv has disappeared,but then I guess softroaders ride much better onroad than any truck based SUV can,mayb tat will ensure tat the softroaders will continue to b sold
The Fortuner has put on lot of pressure on the other SUV makers. Ford endeavour and Honda CR-V have gotten face-lifts to cope up with the Fortuner
