TOYOTA REVEALS THIRD GENERATION AVENSIS FOR EUROPE
Toyota has released a sneak preview image of the third generation Avensis which will be unveiled at the upcoming Paris Motor Show in October. Avensis is Toyota’s flagship sedan in Europe and is built at the company’s Burnaston plant in Derbyshire, UK.
The car sports better built interiors and interior design which gets help from the Lexus saloons. Even the exteriors design with squared tail lights and a clean well defined boot takes inspiration from the Lexus range.
The new Avensis will also be equipped with the newly developed variable valve timing and lift system called Valvematic. The system is a combination of Toyota’s well known Variable Valve Timing Intelligent (VVT-i) and a new mechanism that continually varies the lift of the inlet valves in order to better control the intake air flow. The new system claims to improve both fuel efficiency and performance at the same time.
The car will go on sale from January next year and will battle formidable rivals like Ford Mondeo and the recently launched Opel Insignia, both of which have turned the value for money equation upside down with big car equipment levels at a mid-market saloon price.
